This place is just great! I couldn't recommend it more. We had a large room with a huge terrace outside overlooking the bay and, totally unlike us, we sat there for a couple of days and didn't even leave the appartment - it was perfect. Another plus point is that Odyssia is at a point on the harbour that gets the sun all day long - there is only one stretch with this advantage which is to your right as you enter the bay on the ferry. The room is only around 15 steps up from the harbourside which is perfect if you do struggle with walking for whatever reason. There are 6 or 7 rooms in total and they are immaculately clean with a maid service every day we were there (7 days). There is a hob with two rings, a fridge and everything else you need for self catering. The toilet/shower room are clean and perfectly adequate.
There is a taverna below which is run by the same people where you can have breakfast. Obviously you can also have lunch and dinner there as well as just drinks. At this point in the season it was closing around 8pm but I imagine it is open until the early hours during high season. I was able to also get the room cheaper than it should have been by talking to the owner (Aggeliki) before we departed the UK. Another plus point is that the beach around the corner (Nos Beach) is literally a two minute walk so it's easy to nip back if you forget something for the beach or if you just wanted to eat or get changed etc.
Large terrace with sun all day long.
No massive hikes up lots of steps.
Two minutes walk from nearest beach.
Set in colourful gardens about 80 metres from the sea at Pedi, the quiet fishing village near the main town on Symi.
Spacious and clean apartments sleep 2 to 4 people.
Erini and Vassilis live next door and make your stay comfortable.
we have stayed with irene for the last three visits the rooms are very large compared to other places on symi they are cleaned about 3 times a week plus linnen change as well ,some times when irene is baking she will bring you some freshly baked cake (still warm) the whole family are very nice even there children are as quiet as mice it is well worth staying there if you like peace and quiet
the accommodation is new with fantastic scenery looking over pedi bay no noisy motor bike
Although I haven't stayed at the monastery, I've heard that those who have, enjoyed the experience of staying here.
Apparently there is room for 500 people to be accommodated . Bunk beds in dorms or studio accom.
During feast days and holy days, it might be necessary to book well in advance,
Panormitis is a major centre of pilgrimage.
The Feast Day of the Monastery is November 8th, and attracts worshippers from all over the Dodecanese Islands.
Panormitis offers a relaxing location.
Apart from the monastery complex, there is a mini market/cafe, a bakery, small folk art museum, a secluded beach, and a home for the aged!
See my Must See tips and Symi intro for more on Panormitis Monastery.
Stayed here 2003, booked through Manos Travel.
My room was on the ground floor.

Room was compact.. bed, bedside table, kitchenette with sink / hob/fridge. Crockery/cutlery. En suite shower/wc.
2 other stories..top floor apartments reached by spiral stair case..not suitable for the infirm or inebriated!!!"
Some noise from nearby power station/ church bells (occasional)
Tortoises! they roam in the garden area...
Book swap area...
Handy for Pedi Beach and amenities..bus stop nearby to/from Chorio/Yialos.
Near water taxi jetty.
Church opposite....bell ringing during services/festivities etc!
Booked this through Manos in 2003 (Not with them now) but believe you can book independently....probably best place to enquire is Symivisitor website....
I had the whole place to myself!!!! although officially I was in one of the upper floor rooms.
My room was on 2 levels, a stable door led to the dining area /kitchen with a window (view over chapel/Pedi Bay) and single bed.
Up 1 step to a platform..double bed and wardrobe. Window with shutters that opened onto a fantastic view of the bay and Chorio (The Village).
It was wonderful to wake up to the view of the bay!
Toilet /shower a step away from outside door.
Terrace overlooking hillside/Pedi Bay..washing line and chairs outside.
Great Views. Away from the "bustle" of Yialos.
Beach 2 min walk away.
Fall asleep/wake to sound of waves lapping against the wall below.
Lay in bed enjoying the view of the bay and beyond
