Apartment Alogakia: Your Apartment in the Olive Grove

My recommendation is a beautiful and comfortable apartment for rent by the owner. It is located about 15 minutes out of town, so you will need to rent a car, but what a treat! It is so quiet there, even in peak season you feel like you reached the real Skopelos, off the beaten track.

The apartment is ideal for a family with kids or two couples, as it offers two bedrooms with en-suite bathroom each. Between these two rooms there is a comfortable kitchen/dining room, that has access to one of the sunny and shaded terraces.

A remarkable location within an olive grove that suits the imagination of relaxed vacations on an island in the sun!

Unique Quality: The olive grove has views to the green mountains of the island and also to the Aegean Sea. There are several terraces, all with good sea views and lots of space. Kids never have to bother about noise, there are no direct neighbors to disturb.

From the olive grove you reach the best beaches of the island within minutes by car. Major parts of the famous movie "Mamma Mia!" has been filmed on the island.

Ditropo

“Ditropo” is a county cottage in one of the most beautiful areas of Skopelos. It is far from the busy capital of the island, in a verdant rural area. A small dirt road leads to a farmhouse situated in a large estate. Olive and pine trees, flowers and plants form the serene surroundings in which the two residences are perfectly integrated. Stone and wood blend harmoniously with the environment, while white and bright colors dominate the interiors.

The courtyard that is in front of the kitchen is a cool spot in the shade of the trees and has a view of the plain of Dhitropo. The interior keeps the traditional features of the region, but at the same time has all the basic comforts of a typical residence. The sitting room with the fireplace for the cold days is a spot ideal for relaxation, with a view of the plain.

Each residence consists of two bright and minimally decorated bedrooms. Their windows are open to the green pines of the estate. “Dhitropo” is the ideal refuge for those wishing to spend quiet holidays near nature. However, if the visitors decide to leave the quiet of the estate’s private swimming pool and look for a beach to swim, the beautiful beach of Panormos is the most suitable solution as it is only 2,5km from the estate.

Suggested activities: Walk in the pine forest. Swimming and water sports in the beach of Panormos and the nearby beaches of Milia, Andrina, Linarakia and Kastani. Go by boat to the small island of Dhasia, opposite the beach of Milia and the shores of Lemos and Meki.

Captain?: Private accommodation

When you arrive at the beginning or at the end of high season (like June or September) when rooms are in less demand by tourists, you'll be most probable approached by private room owners as soon as you get off the boat.
In fact you get a hard time to choose from but a wise idea is: negotiate the price, ask the location and then tell the tout you want to check the property out first. If the room meets your standards then book it. By the time I was there a double room costed roughly 15euros (drachma by then), but like everything I think prices a much more expensive now

Prince Stafilos, Skopelos City, Skopelos.: Like PRINCE in Prince Stafilos Hotel!

The staff is great. Less then 10 of them are working but it is more then enough.

Unique Quality: Beautiful pool and a garden with more than 2000 roses!
