WINDSURFING, in Varkiza is a well-known and popular sport. People from Athens come to Varkiza all year round to learn to windsurf at the windsurfing school. The bay of Varkiza is an excellent place to windsurf, as it is very large and the wind is always blowing in a good direction for easy surfing.
Lessons cost 25Euros per hour or 250Euros for 10 lessons. All equipment is included. You will be given a surf board from the school, but if you are not such a good swimmer, you will have to bring your own life vest! Crazy, but true.
