A beautiful and comfortable hotel
My Girlfriend and I had a great stay at this beautifull hotel.
There are two downsides.
First of all it is a quite expensive hotel but you get what you have paid for.
Second, the breakfast is OK, but just passed. I think that the price for it was around €80 and you don't get that much out of it.
The hotel was really clean, and the check-in desk was really helpfull. The bartender knew exactly how to make my cocktail. The clientele was rather old and mostly germans.
The room itself was not world class but had what we needed and it was clean. The view from our room was perfect - I have some pictures added at this tip.
The location is very central and I will recommend it if you can afford it!
Unique Quality: The VIEW!

A Budapest Gem
We stayed at the Art'Otel in Budapest, and weren't really sure what to expect. While we were not granted a free upgrade of room, despite having a decent gold points status, the rooms were nice and the proximity of the hotel to everything is really nice.
The view of the Danube is amazing, and on the other side of the river you have a spectacular view of the Parliament. Also, just a 20 minute walk over the bridge and you're in the main city area. Another neat feature of the hotel is the garden lounge, which is nestled in between the two hotel buildings and makes for a nice romantic setting for a glass of wine.
The look and feel of the hotel is modern and artsy, which makes up for the old-looking hallways and lack of construction details. Overall, a nice hotel and a great budget option. Very much recommended.
Unique Quality: Location, location, location. Oh yeah, and price, price, price!

Classy hotel on the Buda side
Nice 4-star hotel located on the Buda-side with splendid view of the Parliament. The hotel relies mostly on business travellers with large conference facilities and an italian in-house restaurant. Booked a €73 a-night deal and stayed 4 nights in July which is in their low season. Had a pleasent stay overall, however, we were a bit disappointed that they would only give us a room with a view if we paid more. Especially since the hotel was not close to being half-full this could have been a positive gesture.
Clean and spacious room with comfortable beds. Nice bathroom with bathtub. Lot's of boring German and Hungarian TV-channels and only three english speaking channels (Bloomberg, BBC World and CNN). Hotel also have a sauna and fitness room as well as a conference room with 4 computers with free internet access. The best feature of the hotel is the location. Only 5 minutes walking distance from the Chain Bridge with easy access to the Palace and approx. 5 minutes to the nearest metro station. Close to some local bars and some nice restaurants where you can eat a superb breakfast for half the price comparing to the €12 breakfast in the hotel.
Room service until 11PM. We had a very early return flight and booked the airport transfer at the hotel desk for only 6500 florints. At 4:30 AM sharp a driver came in a brand new Mercedes and brought us to the airport in no time.
Unique Quality: Breathtaking view of the Parliament just in front of the hotel. Reliable services.

VERY WELL LOCATED
The staff were always very courteous and most helpful. Nice bar area and lounge off the lobby area. Free internet use to guests in a quiet, separate room. Nice restaurant facility.
The room had all amenities needed and the bed was very comfortable. A front room, with view over the DANUBE RIVER was special!!
Unique Quality: The breakfast lived up to what was touted in the room information as the "BEST VALUE" in the city!!! The buffet selections were very extensive, constantly refreshed, and the coffee was superb.

Noisy room
This is a comfortable, stylish, conveniently placed hotel located on the Buda side of the Danube, with a great view of the Parliament building. Try to avoid room 209. This located next to a service room and is extremely noisy. I was kept awake by the sound of machinery and had to ask to be moved.

Priceline in Budapest-great hotel!
I took my chances with Priceline in Budapest and ended up with the Art 'otel for $70US + taxes.
I was extremely happy about both the rate and the hotel. It was ideally situated on the Buda side of the Danube River with a view of Parliament. We got a 2nd floor room overlooking the Danube, if you are paying full price, ask for a room on the higher floors as there are trees obstructing the view from the lower floors.
There was a business center with free internet on one computer, the sign said 30 minutes free but they didn't ask for your room number. People were generally quick about using it if there was a line.
Unique Quality: Room-this is a newer hotel and as the hotel name implies, designed in an arty fashion. The furniture was Scandanavian, the carpet had a design with sewing things such as buttons, safety pins and thread. It was extremely clean. The room had a minibar/refrigerator, in room safe, air conditioning. The bed was on the soft side and the pillows were comfortable.
Bathroom-hair dryer, soft big towels, Neutrogena soap and shampoo, body wash in a wall dispenser, good water pressure and lots of hot water.
Breakfast-included in the rate even with Priceline, the excellent buffet included eggs, bacon, sausage, cereal, pastries, juice, coffee/tea, meats, cheeses. You could eat inside or outside on the terrace if you could find a spot.
Local transport-within 5 minutes of the Batthyany Ter metro/bus stop, there was also trams 19 and 41 that stopped right across from the hotel.
Restaurants-several close by, I'll find the names shortly
Desk staff-very helpful with directions, booked our return minivan, very pleasant

Hip 'Lifestyle' Hotel in Buda.
This is a cool hotel in a renovated building. It oozes coolness all over! Even the red monogrammed towel robes are cool! The building has a modern wing overlooking the river and an eighteenth century wing. All the interiors are modern and are themed around the paintings of an American artist.
The only downside in this place is that it is a bit awkward to get to by public transport, being a fair walk from Batthyany Ter Metro.
Unique Quality: Great buffet breakfast with designer crockery!
Lovely rooms.
And those fantastic red dressing gowns!!

Art'Otel - a bit outdated, but comfortable enough
This hotel has some pretty good deals available on various sites - Mark and I got ours off Expedia, coming in at around £91 per night per room but with every third night free so it works out pretty good value. The hotel markets itself as a "boutique" hotel but I have to say that we found its choice of art a bit questionable - carpets with large domino or needle and thread designs and plates with playing card designs - trying a bit too hard, we thought. Still, the rooms themselves are comfortable enough, if a little stark, and the location is amazing - right on the banks of the Danube. Our room had a wonderful view of the parliament - definitely request a room at the front of the hotel and don't worry about the noise; the rooms must be quadruple-glazed they were that quiet. A metro stop is nearby, which is very useful, as is a very homely restaurant the name of which escapes us - turn right out the front door and then first right and it's got a large outdoor terrace. We do have a fair few gripes about the hotel - eg managing to book and confirm a restaurant booking on a night that the restauarant was closed; extremely small gym and average breakfast, but on the whole it is a very pleasant place in a great location with some stunning views
Unique Quality: Great views of the parliament

Great views, convenient location
I would definitely recommend this hotel. Modern decor, clean spacious rooms and beautiful views. We were able to get online deals too which made it even better. Access to all the sights is pretty easy. We walked to the castle hill district from the hotel.

Artotel Hotel
Oh, oh, oh ups I forgot to ask -..anyone has any idea what the Artotel hotel is like? upss...sorry :-)
Re: Artotel Hotel
Hello,
If you're talking about the Art'otel on the Buda side of Budapest, I think it's great. It's my favorite hotel in town, great design, good breakfast buffet, excellent location.
There is also the Art Hotel in Pest, which I haven't stayed in but I hear that it is OK, although not as nice as the Art'otel.
Re: Re: Artotel Hotel
Thank you for your answer :-). The hotel is Artotel, the address is:bem rakpart 16-19, near the river. I only know the artworks of the world-renowned american artist Donald Sultan are on display throughout the hotel
Re: Re: Artotel Hotel
Yep, that's the one!! Really great hotel indeed and very well located...
If you are interested, check the travelogue on my Budapest page, several pictures from the hotel are there...
