Friendly and helpful Budapest hostel
A four night stay at Adventura made me want to start my own hostel. It gave me a close look at what it might be like to start a small business like this of your own. A very home-grown vibe envelopes this accomodation. Decent location although street noise from early-morning garbage trucks and such is a pest. The highlight of this place is definately the staff, they gave great recommendations, did my laundry, and even made arrangments for the next place I stayed at.
This is a good place for anyone looking for a quiet personal stay; it is not for travelers out to party balls, sad face. The tight quarters and lack of a common room aside from the kitchen made it difficult to congregate, chat, and generally party it up.
Unique Quality: Beautiful and extremely helpful owner and staff, loft sleeping platforms (think treehouse), snack packs for the day including juice box and cookie bars (made me feel eight years old, fantastic!)

Aventura Hostel
Really nice small hostel with three shared rooms of different sizes, Internet access and breakfast included. The people who run the place are very friendly and helpful and you even get a 'snack pack' on most days to take away for lunch.
There is a couple of small grocery stores nearby if you want to prepare you own meals at the hostel.

The newest and probably the coolest hostel in town
As I live in Budapest, I have not stayed at this place but I know one of the owners who gives a high credit to this new hostel.
Just check out their homepage and I'm sure you'll be convinced provided you look for a budget accomodation with a great atmosphere.
