    My wife and I stayed at the Pilvax right in the
    heart of everything, all in walking distance.
    Very reasonable price, clean and helpful staff ....
    Right in the heart of historical Budapest .
    We stayed 7 nights, and enjoyed our time there.
    No problems, No complaints ....

    The City Hotel Pilvax is situated than one kilometer from fashionable
    Vaci Street and set in the center of Budapest. The 32 guestrooms
    are simply furnished in pastel colors with bright floral trim.
    All have minibars, hair dryers and cable television.
    It also includes a nice buffet breakfast ....

    Pilvax Restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and
    offers a formal setting of grand chandeliers, high ceilings and
    wood paneling. The menu offers guests the chance to
    sample both European and Hungarian cuisine with an
    emphasis on grilled dishes. During the summer months the
    outdoor terrace is popular with hungry sun lovers. Guests can
    enjoy an array of amenities including room service for those
    wishing to dine in privacy, conference rooms for business travelers,
    and for a small fee, transport to and from the airport.
    Budapest Ferihegy Airport is 30 minutes and 30 kilometers away.
    Budapest has an inexpensive and efficient public transport system
    with easy links between the metro, HEV trains, buses, trams
    and trolleybuses.
    Tickets can be bought from metro stations, kiosks and newsstands

    Most of all, it is very reasonable for all they offer ....

    • Hotel was very helpful via email keen to assist with arranging taxis from airport.
    Quick to respond to emails and sort out accomodation etc for a large party.
    Rooms spotless and ideal VFM.
    Beware mini-bar but that the same tip world over. Breakfast was very good and its small bar served an excellent draught Becks. they also threw in a group meal which was surpsringly simple but ample.
    Would use the same hotel again.

    location is superb in that you are central for every where the Gellert baths is within 10-15 mins walk, 5 mins from metro to. Good central location. turn left out of the entrance go straight over the main road and down the shopping street on the right is a cracking pest bar which serves a pint for a 250 florint.

    • I stayed here for 2 nights in a single room at about 79Euro per night. It was a handy, central location, and fairly quiet in general (nice pedestrianised street outside). No major compaints.

    I had a single room, and it seemed to be noisy from "internal" noises, the air conditioning/plumbing etc. Having said that, I wore myself out so didn't really notice that too much!

    The breakfast was adequate, there is a decently priced restaurant and bar downstairs, and it has a bit of history, although being a relatively new renovation job it doesn't necessarily flaunt it.

    A decent option for somewhere to stay, but not outstandingly special.

    • Pilvax is a good bargain if you want to stay central. It is situated very close to vaci, but in a nice quiet street.

    Hotel has a stay 4 nights and pay for 3 offer off season. www.taverna.hu.

    It is mainly a hotel catering for tourists.

    Breakfast is good - if you can't find what you want in the fairly big buffet, you can order egg meals of no additional costs.
