    - very pleasant location in island park
    - hi-level hotel service
    - rich spa facilities
    - convenient means of car transportation (easy to reach any suburbs, a lot of parking place, garage for hotel guest is free starting from 14-nights stay

    Cons:
    - if you don't have a car, you need to use a bus to get city center

    Recently bought up by Danubius, this establishment shares spa facilities with its sister hotel the Thermal Hotel Margitsziget . They are connected by an underground tunnel. The Grand has a slightly more pleasant atmosphere and bigger, cleaner rooms. Though not air-conditioned, most rooms do have a balcony and all contain period furnishings which reflect the Grand's proud century-old history. The charming lobby and outside terraces serving the restaurant, ice-cream shop and pizzeria also help generate a certain turn-of-the- century feel.
    Price around £ 80.

    This 5 star hotel is absolutely incredible. Situated on an island in the Danube between Buda and Pest, surrounded by acres of parkland. Gorgeous rooms, beautiful furnishings, excellent restaurant, first class service.

    • This is the sister Hotel to the Danubius Thermal located on Margaret Island, as the name suggests, its a bit grander than the Thermal and older. Guests can use all the Spa facilities at the Danubius Thermal, the Grand is just a few steps walk away, the two Hotels are linked via and underground tunnel.

    We stayed in a superior room, but from what we saw, the standard rooms at the Grand, don't look as good as those at the newer, Thermal Hotel, having said that, the lounges and Restaurants is more oppulent and the Dining Terrace outside is beautiful.
    A very attractive Hotel set in beautiful parkland and with the added bonus of the Spa and Medical Centre at the Thermal Hotel, next door.

    • Located on Margaret Island, a small island in the center of the Danube River.
    Stayed here twice, standard rooms are nice, spacious and clean and have a balcony, Breakfast which was typical continental. Officially a 4* Hotel and is worthy of the 4* status.
    Not much to do on the Island itself, but there is lovely parkland just outside the Hotel and the City Centre is a short bus ride away.

    This Hotel is outstanding because of the Health Spa, Medical & Cardiac Center, Dental Clinic, Cosmetic Surgery & Laser Eye Surgery Clinic and Beauty Salon.
    The Spa is free to Hotel Guests and uses the Local Thermal spring water in its pools and jaccuzi's.

    • Located on Margaret Island in the middle of the Danube. I really don't know where to start on what we liked about the Thermal Margitsziget. Location: Great. Not in the city, its secluded.Ten yards from a bus stop which takes you right into the heart of Budapest, about 10-15 minutes away.A walking track all around the island, just fantastic, Gardens, flowers, everything is kept clean and manicured. Facilities: Could not be better. This is a SPA. The rooms were clean, with a balacony, and a refrig. Theral bath, swimming pools, fitness center, sauna, steam room, bar, restaurants, lounge area. Service: First class. Clean, and staff was very helpful. We took the 3 weeks for the price of 2, The Complete SPA Package. This included: RT from New York to Budapest, 21 nights, half board (buffet breakfast, lunch or dinner) Unbelieavable meals. Something for everyone, and 15 SPA treatments per week, a total of 45 SPA treatment for 3 weeks. The price from about $2000 to $2800 per person (depends on when you travel). Highly recommend this hotel and the package deal. Tradescotours.com was who we went thru. Was there in 2005, going back 2007.
    You can not go wrong with this. Especially with Budapest to visit at your leisure.

    The outstanding chargacteristics of the Thermal Hotel Margitsziget.:
    Localtion - quite, secluded, yet only 10 minutes by bus to downtown Budapest.
    Facilities - a top notch hotel. Has to be a 4/5 star. Clean
    Services- some of the best we have every received. Did I mention you get a Big Bathrobe to wear. You practically live in it.
    Facilities: Pools were great, Dressing room - fantastic.
    Price - We travel alot. This has been the Best Bang for your Buck.

    • The Thermal Hotel Margitsziget (Margaret Island) is fantastic. Located on an island, its secluded and with a bus stop right outside the hotel, its just minutes away from downtown Budapest. The room sare large enough, with a balcony, minibar, color TV and a refrig.
    The restaurant offers both buffet and menu meals, international, Hungarian and dietetic cusine. It has a tremendous SPA therapy program. Everything you would need There is an indoor pool, a thermal baths, whirlpool, sauna, steam room and an outdoor pool. It has an excellent fitness center. Bathrobes are furnished and I guess if you wanted to spend most of your day just wearing your robe you could. There is also a bar area and snack bar area.

    Its a tremendous hotel and offers everything you need in a SPA. The facilities are clean and well maintained. The staff is excllent and the meals are well prepared and there is always several selections from the buffet. A great salad bar. The SPA facilities are fantastic.The price is great, they do have a special deal, 3 weeks for the price of 2. Just a 10 minute bus ride to downtown Budapest, which is a great city to visit.

    I was staying at this hotel which is in the "Margaret Island" area. It's a very big and classy hotel, the rooms are quit big and comfortbale

    The only disadvantage is that is located far from the city and the historical and touristic center. I always had to take 2 buses to go to Budapest and took me 30 minutes approximately

    I stayed around 1 month in this hotel until I moved to my flat. I enjoyed everyday of it because of the perfect location in Margit island in the middle of Danube. My room was very comfortable and the service was great. I recommend this hotel if you don't have a tight budget.

    The breakfast, lunch and dinner which I tried many times were so satisfactory. One important advantage of this hotel is the spa facilities. There is a thermal pool, a swimming pool, jakuzi, sauna and steam bath available to hotel residents. It was so relaxing after coming from work and resting in the thermal bath during my long stay.
