A Hidden Gem

We stayed at the Domina Inn Fiesta Budapest from 1-4th September 2009. We booked this via a special offer with British Airways City Breaks and the only knowledge we had apart from the hotel's own website was traveller reviews on various diffrent sites.

The hotel is housed in a lovely old building. The main entrance is beautifully light and airy. The reception staff were all extremly helpful and courteous. Although the upstairs corridors need refurbishment the rooms were spacious with comfortable beds and everywhere was spotlessly clean.

Breakfast is plentiful and varied and you gets you off to a good start for all the walking you will probably do. Evening dinner was absolutely superb. The quality of food and the service was as good as any select restaurant in the area.

Our only complaint as such was that the hotel bar closes at 10pm. It would have been lovely to have had a nightcap after returning from an evening out.

The hotel is so centrally placed on the Pest side of the river that almost all the major sites are within walking distance. It's a 7 min walk to both the Synagogue and St Stephens Basilica and only 10 mins to the Parliament Buildings and the river. Vaci Utca the main shopping area is about 8-10 mins walk.

The hotel is situated in a quiet street but is only a 3-4 min walk from the main road where you can pick up the Metro and the bus and tram services.

There are a number of excellent restaurants within a 5-10 min walk of the hotel and even the more select ones will only coat about £25 per person for 3 courses and wine. Half the price you expect to pay in London.

We will definitely use this hotel again if we ever return to Budapest.

Unique Quality: Excellent restaurant.

Very Clean and Comfortable

I consider this hotel to be very good value for money, our room was spacious clean well maintained and most impotantly, very comfortable. The hotel is well located, just a short walk from Parliament and Vaci Street (a fashionable shopping area). The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the public areas such as the reception, lobby etc were very smart.

The all important question; Would I stay here again?

Answer; Yes I would

Great for a city break

I'm recently back from a New Year stay in Budapest and you could do worse than the Hotel Fiesta. It describes itself as a three star and I'd agree with that. It was clean, fairly well-equipped (although it didn't have an ironing board, just an ironing service, but that was cheap), and it had its own dentist. The staff were efficient and multi-lingual and I'd certainly use the hotel again.

Unique Quality: The basement dining room was lovely, and you were never 100% sure what was gonna turn up in the breakfast buffet.

Central hotel

We stayed at this hotel for 6 nights in November 2005. It was excellent value for money, clean in a central location. All metro lines were very close to the hotel making it very easy to get around.

The main bar/restaurant area (Liszt Ferenc tér) is within walking distance.

Rooms are equipped with hairdryer, ensuite shower, TV and telephone. Good storage space. There is no safety deposit box in the room, however, you can use the safety deposit boxes behind reception.

Breakfast was good and consisted of hot chocolate, coffee, speciality teas, juices, yoghurts, cereal, toast, pastries, cold meats, cobs, bacon, sausage etc.

We always felt very safe walking around the surrounding streets.

I would recommend this hotel, especially for the price which we paid.

Unique Quality: Location is good. Some great houseware shops on the street.

Domina Hotel Fiesta

The Domina Fiesta is well located near the river end of Kiraly Utca, within walking distance of St Stephen’s Basilica and the Danube. Good public areas and efficient service although the bar in the lobby did not have a great selection. The rooms were comfortable but the lifts were incredibly slow. A continental breakfast is served in the cellar restaurant.

Unique Quality: Internet connection available in the lobby for a fee.

Spacious rooms, cozy atmosphere.

I stayed there for a week in February 2003. When my wife and me arrived at the hotel we were accomodated in a twin room (that with two separate beds) while we had booked a double (wieh one bed for two). The room was quite large but we still went to the reception to as for a double instead of twin. At the reception we found out that our travel agency made a mistake and booked twin. Nevertheless the management of the hotel changed a room for double even without extra charge! When we entered our newly obtainde double we vere shoked - it was even more spacious. Yhe only, well, 'flaw' was that there were no balconys in the hotel. But it was OK for us as far as in February there is no need for a balcony.
The hotel was newly built or reinnovated so it looks rather modern and tidy inside. Staff is friendly. Food is good.

Unique Quality: I'm sorry but I can't remember the price. But as far as I remember it was more than affordable.

Excellent restaurant Bohemtanya is nearby. Check it out!

My Favourite Hotel In Budapest

An excellent hotel located in Central Pest. The staff were unbelievably friendly and helpful. Rooms are standard city centre fare but are well furnidhed and clean. It is an easy 10 minute walk to the shopping area of Vaci Utca. The nearest Metro station is Deak Ter which is a 5 minute walk away.

Unique Quality: There is an excellent restaurant on the hotels basement set in archways. The bar is an informal and is next to thereception area.

Town Hall Apartments Budapest

by bowerpower83

Hi,
Has anyone stayed in the Town Hall Senior Apartment in Budapest or any of the Town Halls apartments? I'm wondering what they like, particularly in regards to location.
We are also considering Domina Inn Fiesta Hotel, is this in a good location and a nice hotel? It appears to be from the websites, but you can never tell!
Thank-you.

It's on street:
H-1054 Budapest,
Városház utca (str.) 6.
Is this a central/good location?
Thanks

Both accomodations are well located. Both areas are central commercial-residential areas, with heavy street and road traffic.
Town Hall Senior Apt is located near Ferenciek tere in downtown Pest, in a touristy area. Thanks to the good transportation links of the area, all sights are easy to reach: sights of the Inner City are within walking distance, other sights can be reached by metro M3 from Ferenciek tere, metro M2 from Astoria, trams 47 49 from Astoria or buses 7 73 or 7 express 173 express.
Domina Inn Fiesta is near Deak Ferenc ter, located on the edge of the Inner City. Transportation links are slightly better than in the case of Town Hall: all 3 metro lines intersect here and buses to the Buda Castle depart from Deak ter. You may reach the baths of Buda by walking to Astoria and catching the 7 73 buses.

Do you if these 2 accomodations are good?

Hello

I've just got back from Budapest. We rented out Town Hall Senior and Junior apartments - if they are the ones at 32 - 34 Kiraly Utca they are excellent - very bright and modern with everything you need including washer, dish washer own balcony.
The area is also very central - near to Liszt Ferenc (lots of restaurants and bars) near Deac Sq (good for trams, buses and Metro), Vaci Utca (shopping), Andrassy Utca (shops, museums etc) and near the Chain Bridge to get over to the Buda side of the Danube.
We stayed for a week and had a great time. Have a good trip! Claire
