As mentioned in the introduction, we took the early train to Budapest and arrived before 11:00. Now getting from the train station to the hotel was an adventure...lol...we had the help of many locals to get us on the correct bus/trolley...but we got there. And what an awesome location...The Hilton Budapest is located in the heart of the historical Castle District (one of UNESCO's World Heritage sites) next to Hungary's gothic Coronation Church, the Matthias Church, Fisherman's Bastion and across the Danube from the Hungarian Parliament Building. Usually, you can't check in until after 2:00 p.m., but we called in advance and got to our suite before 11:30, the hotel staff knew us by our first name, provided directions to things we wanted to see, recommendations on places to eat, and so much more...now that's what I call customer service. The amenities were everywhere, from our gorgeous room with a king size bed, water and fruits provided, color tv, bath robes, calls to make sure we were doing well, and on, and on and on. I would highly recommend this location if you are ever staying in Budapest.
The hotel incorporates a contemporary structure with 13th century remains. It has 322 completely refurbished guest rooms including 23 suites, a Presidential Suite and 73 Executive Floor rooms and facilities to welcome disabled guests are also available. The "Hilton Room Plus" accommodations offer a stunning view of the River Danube and the City of Budapest (we got one of those rooms). In addition, the rooms are comfortable for both working and relaxing, feature air conditioning, security key card system, built in safe, three IDD telephones, wireless internet access, minibar, tea and coffee making facilities, iron and ironing board. One of the best things about this hotel is that we got to stay here for free...well we used Hilton Honors Points to stay at a 5-star hotel for free...you can't beat that!!!
