Nyugati ter

This square is one of the most central in Pest. Its also can be the first sight that tourists see when they arrive Budapest from north (Berin, Prague, Bratislava)...
When you will get out of the station you will find a crowded and active street (Terez korut). In the square area you will find a Supermarket, West End shopping center, some old beautiful buildings (you will notice the big commercial signs on them) and many taxi drivers that will take you to any place at very high price... so take it as a last option to get to the center. A better way of getting into the Downtown is by M3 (Just under the train station) that will take you to Deak ter and from there you can change metro line and get to your destination.
This is one of the places that i have been in them the most in my visits to Budapest, it was a starting point to many of my tours.
Houses of Parliament
by croisbeauty
The Parliament, also known as Orszag has, is one of the emblems of the town. There is, however, another Parliament building which is less known and not so attractive. It is situated on the opposite side of the Lajos Kosuth Square, and worth of note.
Tipping in restaurants
by ophiro
A lot of restaurants include the service on the bill.
Most of the time it will be 10% and they write it on the bottom of the bill for your comfort of understanding the bill's parts.
If you don't see the service included you can always ask and give the waiter a 10% tip - he will be very happy.
Swimming - public baths
by KamaO
KIRALY MEDICINAL BATH - this Turkish bath, that is a steam bath, giving a special experience for travellers, is a precious memory of the Turkish occupation (named after its owner in the 19th century), which functions today as well. The centre of the most beautiful Turkish part of the building, to which Baroque and Classicist extensions were made, is the cupola hall with an octagonal pool. The thermal baths are 39 and 30n degrees hot, the cold water pool is 26 degrees, while the hot air and steam chambers are 60-70 degrees. The water is good for people suffering from locomotor diseases, but is also recommended for those who wish relax only. It is opened for women on Tue, Thu 06:30-18:00 and on Sat 06:30-12:00. For men it is opened on Mon, Wed, and Fri 09:00-20:00.
