Hey fellow travelers!
So I am arriving in Budapest on 24/2 at 5 o 'clock and dont have anything reserved for dinner that night. I am reading that everything is closed that day.
Is this true? What about fast food restaurants? Will my first day in Budapest be a hungry one?
If you have any suggestions please help!!

Fastfood restaurants will surely be closed. Some restaurants will be open I suppose, eg. hotel guests should not be left to die of hunger, so you may try hotel restaurants. And probably kebab takeaways with non-Christian owners will be open too, eg. along Szent Istvan korut or Terez korut.
And note that only night public transportation will be available after 4 PM, find out more about the network here http://www.bkv.hu/ejszakai/tajekoztato.html. Bus frequencies will be the same as at night.

There are several bridges across the Danube river, Szechenyi Lanchid is the most famous among them.
The Chain Bridge is the central point of Budapest, connecting two parts of the town Buda and Pest.
The construction begun in 1839 upon Count Istvan Szechenyi's initiative and the English engineer T.W.Clark produced the designs. His namestake Adam Clark was in charge of the work, which took ten years.
Walk, walk, walk! Budapest is a large city yet is very suited to exploring on foot. There is always something to see, no matter what side of the Danube you're on. Bring comfortable shoes because your fondest memories of Budapest will probably be of walking the avenues.
Violin players on streets and in restaurants are very commonplace throughout Hungary. Usually they play Hungarian songs such as the Csardas and the Waltz, asking for some
money. For some it is nice entertainment, for others a nuisance :)
Franz Liszt Music Academy, situated in the ononymous street, is considered one of the best in the Central Europe. The front facade of the building, built in neo-classical style, is beautifuly decorated and with a huge statue to the composer right above the main entrance.
The Mary Magdalene Tower is the most intact part of a church ruined during WW2. The crowds of tourists in Castle Hill rarely venture this far, so it's a much quieter area, which allows you appreciate the evocative ruins all the more.
