Ramada Plaza Budapest: Enjoy the thermal spa and a good swim

We were on a tour of Imperial Europe when we visited Budapest. We found the Ramada Plaza an excellent place to stay. It's on the Buda side of the river, across from Margaret Island. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There is a shuttle bus available for a charge from the hotel to downtown. This must be reserved ahead of time.
The best part of this stay was the spa and pool area. Budapest is known for its thermal hot waters and the Ramada Plaza is one of a few hotels that has the water on their premises.
There were two smaller pools that had very warm water, a large lap pool and a good hot tub. We also enjoyed the saunas and steam rooms and the lounge area. The staff at the spa were very friendly and helpful. There was a bathrobe in the room to wear to the spa area.
The rooms were clean and the bathroom was good size with shampoo and conditioner included. They had liquid soap in the sink area. The lighting was very good - all the lights worked.
Our tour included a full buffet breakfast which was excellent. They had an omelette bar which was cooked according to our request. There was plenty of fresh fruit, crusty breads, vegetables, salads, cereals and lots of cheeses and sliced meats. There was an abundance of choices of pastry, and hot meat. The dining area was very nice.

Definitely the spa and pool area were the best part of this stay. They were lovely and wonderfully comfortable. Also, very convenient, as we did not have to try to find a place on our own to enjoy the thermal waters. You can also purchase juice, fruit and a bit of food in the lobby to the spa.

Caminito: Hostels in Budapest

The most convenient way to spend the nights is in hostels. The one I stayed in costed 3000 HUF (about 11,50 Euro) per night in the usual sleeping hall for 8.
Free internet and kitchen use. If you find the prices for gulasz in the etterems too high, make it yourself whith paprika, tomatoe concentrate, pepper and some caraway seed. It can't be Hungarian whithout this last ingredient. And don't expect much more eating it from a white towel!

Nearby you have some economic and good locations to eat (Jegbüfe and Föszellek etelbar).
Located in an older house, centric.
There are some more hostels nearby!

Promenade City Hotel: Hidden Little Gem in the City

We spent 3 nights at the Promenade city hotel during the winter. What prompted us to choose this hotel was its location in the city centre. The hotel is relatively new and very well maintained. Its located on Vaci Ut which is the main shopping street in Budapest and walking distance to the bridges and the Danube cruise.I've read some guest reviews complaining abt the windows opening into the inner courtyard but our room had no such issues. The breakfast was adequate.nothing too fancy. The only downside is that the bathroom does not have a shower curtain and its a challenge to keep it dry.

We got the room really cheap because the hotel was participating in the Budapest Winter Invitation program and got 3 nights for the price of 2!

Hotel Soho: Convenient location

Very good location; Because it was a new hotel (opened in October 2008?), the avant-garde and modern facilities and furniture were sparkling.
Breakfast, which was included, was substantial and a lot of choices. There was always a tray of big, green apples in the lobby during my stay.
Friendly and helpful staff, in the front desk and dining area.

downtown: Budapest accommodation

Hello, my friend!

Couple weeks ago, a friend of mine and me had a 4day long trip in Hungary (Budapest). It's a beautiful place!
You have to see this! People are kind, the city is gorgeous. We found a very pretty flat in the middle of the city for a very good price, just 2 minutes from Deak ter. A totally equipped flat, with 2 bedrooms and a living, plus a kitchen and a bathroom. The price was correct, the apartment was very clean.
If you are interest, write an e-mail: giny26@gmail.com or do what I did go to this website: www.flatbudapest.com, because I saw there small flats also, for 1 person.
Good luck!
Bye!

BEA- Bradley and Edwards: Trustworthy, Clean and Well Located

If you are coming to Budapest and don't want to stay in a hotel then this is a great alternative. Bradley and Edwards offer great apartments at all price ranges for short term or long term stays. You can rent an apartment for one week or one year with the guarantee that it is a trustworthy company who will not try and rip you off. When I was moving here I booked a flat with them over the internet for a month. They were friendly and quick to answer. As I was worried about paying a deposit beforehand I wanted to make sure the company was trustworthy. The details of the contract were clearly described to me so it was the only company I felt happy transferring the 150 euro reservation fee to. My studio apartment cost me 360 euros a month, bills included in a very nice district of Budapest. The flat was very clean and the conduct of the company always very professional but also personable.

My contact in the company was Ivona, and I highly recommend asking for her. Her English is fantastic and she is very friendly and helpful. I would also like you to ask for her as staff members get a small commission for all the clients they find and she certainly deserves it.

Use the websites provided to check out the apartments you are interested in then send them an on line booking request. They will then either contact you by phone or email. You are in no way obliged to take the flat until you send the deposit and you are free to clarify all your questions and doubts without feeling pressured into agreeing to take a flat.

Room Behind the Opera: Location Location

This is actually a tiny apartment that is tucked behind the Opera House. Two apartments share one bathroom. Spotless and the couple who own it picked us up ( for free) at the train. There is a fridge in your room and a cooktop in the kitchen. Good value at 50E per night. Near the Metro.

Very quiet...no parties here!

Apartment (two-roomed flat): Apartment for rent in the heart of Budapest

I recommend to you a not too expensive, cosy flat in the middle of the downtown, between Danube and Váci Street!

The furnished, two-roomed apartment – only 30 seconds walk from the restaurants and shopping precinct – is ideal for not only couples, but also families and tourist groups.

- cubby-hole
- brand-new wooden loft

- ground-floor
- 54 square metres

At the ends of quiet Street the famous Mátyás Pince Restaurant and the popular Central Market Hall can be found, on the river bank there is a port. You can reach all sights easy in a short time, comfortably on foot, or by public transport (Blue Metro, many kinds of buses, and tram 2 on the Danube shore).

In the well-equipped apartment you can find your all modern convenience (washing-machine, refrigerator, cooker, mikro, toaster, coffee-machine, blender, body-building machine, corner bathtub, tv, hair dryer, electrical alarm).

Private apartments for Finns: Good location and cheap big flats

We stayed here summer 2005.I just contacted the owner, and he told that the price for 70m2 flats are 48e if there is two person, and 12e extra for another two per person.
If you stay over 8 nights the price goes half.
Both flats are just in the centre, and we liked to live in real flat-house with only locals living in same flat.

Sorry to you,who don´t live in Finland, the owner wants to meet in person,so you should live in Finland or visit here-hopefully in Helsinki or Tampere.
If you can do that, ask from me the phone-number and email-address to owner.I promised to give it only to people who accept this.

Private room in a Hostel: Best Hostel service in Budapest

I had a wonderful stay at Enter Privates in Budapest. Location first of all is brilliant, near Oktogon Square, most of the sites are in walking distance, 24 hour shops, ATM, restaurants, cafés, pubs are within 50 meters. My room was very nice, clean. The hostel has a well equipped kitchen, though I used it only for having my free morning coffee. There was free internet access as well. It's a quiet hostel, no dorm rooms in it, so there was no queuing in front of the bathroom, no crowds, excellent place to relax and see the city. The owners had the best recommendations oplanning my stay, like contemporary dance show, music performance, exhibitions and even restaurants, baths, etc.

Excellent location, the best recommendations on programmes

Greenbridge: Excellent small hostel

Recently stayed at the Greenbridge Hostel in Budapest. It's a small but comfortable hostel, excellent location, very nice staff, internet, free wifi, free coffee, tea expresso.

I felt very relaxed and comfortable in this small hostel -- it has two rooms without about 8 beds each. Very nice people passing through, and staff that really did their best to help no matter what you needed.
