Visit Buda, most of it is up...

Visit Buda, most of it is up on a hill. Stand in front of the palace and view the city of Pest. Visit the Fisherman Bastion - impressive structure and magnificant views of the Danube and goverment bulidings. The Chain Bridge that joins Buda with Pest - beautifully lit up at night. A must - take a boat trip on the Danube at nightfall, especially a boat with a restaurant, for a lovely romantic evening. When the sun sets, the city comes alive with music and dance and the impressive buildings light up. The air (away from the river) becomes fragrant with delicious smells.
Astoria Ter (Square)
by edvin_br
Astoria ter is known because of the Astoria hotel that situated at the intersection. This is also a central point if you wanna get to the city center of Pest and to Vaci utca.
Its accessible by M2. There is a big tunnel under the square with a lot of sleeves to many boulevards, try not to get lost.

Packing List
by dtamas
A VT member has asked me:
'I heard years ago that blue jeans were very hard to get in Hungary and that people would try to buy your blue jeans from you while you were walking down the street. Is this still true?'
I suggest packing blue jeans only for yourself, since getting one did not cause severe problems in the past 25-30 years, lol!
This destination isn't off...
by Venturingnow
This destination isn't off the beaten path, but the road taken is. The destination is City park and Hero's Square, but instead of taking the metro all the way into the park, walk all the way from the 1st M1 metro stop. The walk is great, peaceful, tree lined, and in great weather, it's unforgettable.
