on April 22, 2004The service was excellent- and the breakfast was massive with everything from the finest freshly squeezed orange juice to all sorts of healthy, and not-so-healthy, foods. It would sustain you for the entire day. The two negative points are but small: we could get the stench of cigarette smoke in our bedroom on the 8th floor- we felt they should have the floors smoking or non smoking. For that matter, prepare yourself for a culture of cigarette smoke throughout Budapest- but then again we are coming from Ireland where smoking in bars and restaurants has been completely banned, so we probably notice the smoke more.
Secondly, the showers and changing rooms down at the Jacuzzi and swimming pool were in need of renovation. The masseuse down in the gym was excellent, and very funny. Her limited english amounted to "Pain, Good!" followed by another painful whack! (and then a smile). She was the nearest thing to Nietzsche I've ever heard.
Lastly, it was far and away the best value **** star hotel in Budapest- it cost us a total of 246 Euro for the two of us for 4 nights. We'd highly recommend it.
