Beware of Telephone rates ... !
We spent 5 nights in this hotel. (end of 2009)
The service was correct although the restaurant is very expensive for what you get..
But, we fall in the biggest trap - the Telephone bill (one call to local mobile Nr. 2-3 minutes) - this call cost us 32 EURO ! (Exclude VAT of 25%) which make it about 10 EURO per minute !!
Unique Quality: There is big jacuzzi but no pool & there are two iMac for Internet use (Free!)

Novotel Palace Hotel Centrum
I didn't stay here, but the exterior of this building is really photogenic. The Hotel is 4-star and very centrally located in the Rakoczi street on the Pest side. Beautiful, isn't it?

Budapest Sept 8 - 13
Hi, me and a few friends are heading to Budapest in Sept and have been looking at staying in Novotel. Does anyone is this near the city centre and what is the hotel like?

Novotel Budapest Centrum is located near Eastern Station, close to most tourist sights, a good location - and what's more important, it's easy to access (Blaha Lujza ter: metro M2, trams 4 6 and numerous important bus lines, also at night).
Novotel Budapest Congress is located in Central Buda, at Budapest Congress & World Trade Center, more suitable for business visitors than for tourists as it is not conveniently located (it is linked to the city center by two bus routes crawling on jammed streets...) - or at least not as conveniently as the other hotel.
