Rózsák terei templom-Church on the roses square
by 1courage
I put this church as the next tip because also this one wears the name of Saint Elisabeth of the Árpádian dynasty.
According to the legend, once when Saint Elisabeth was bringing bread to the poor people she was stopped by her brother in law, Henrik, and asked, what she was carrying. She answered: roses. Henrik opened the basket and there were indeed only roses. Since the church was consacrated to Elisabeth the square on wich you find it was renamed square of the Roses. It`s situated close to the Keleti Railway station. Best choice is taking the Bus number 7 and going 1 stopo towards the Danube. You will find it on the right side.
This is the second biggest church in Budapest (bigger than the Matthias church!) and it was built in neogothic style between 1893 and 1901 by Imre Steindl, the architect of the Parliament. He worked on both plans at the same time. While he died some years before the termination of the construction of the Parliament, he still could see the inauguration of this church.
Due to the negligence of the communists 15 years ago this church was in a terrible shape. De restoration work have begun in 1994 and the external parts are ready, even the church has recieved a beautiful night illumination. The refurbishment of the internal part is still under way. The biggest part is now in good conditions, but the works still need some time to be completed.
Hungarian beer
by HORSCHECK
The most famous beer brand of Hungary is Dreher. The Dreher brewery was founded by Antal Dreher in the mid 19th century. It is located in Kobanya which is the X. district of Budapest. In local pubs or at market stalls you get a Pint of Dreher for around 200 HUF (2004).
Soccer

If you have the opportunity to attend a soccer game for the Hungarian National team, then go for it. I went with a couple colleagues and had a great time. Although the team is not the world's best, the fans were very enthusiastic, though not rowdy. One section would sign songs and during the course of one of them it seemd like the song sounded like Jingle Bells. I turned to my colleagues and asked what they were singing - they replied Jingle Bells! Even after the game the crowd was enthusiastic signing a chant of "We are Hungary" all the way into the subway station. These were truly fans and they showed a national spirit above and beyond anything I've seen in the U.S.
If you are looking for a good...

If you are looking for a good place for your morning jogging, or just want to spend some time in a park environment I can recommend you the Margitsziget.
It is located in the hearth of the city between the Margit and Árpád bridges. You can get there easily by public transportation.
If you come for sporting activities you can change your clothes either in the Athletic Centre, or in one of the two swimming pools on the island.
On summertime this can be a bit crowdy, but still a good place to relax.
