THE PARLIAMENT BUILDING
Built at the end of XIX century, this representative building at the banks of the Danube has a facade with Gothic pinnacles and 88 statues representing Hungarian rulers princes and military commanders.
The interior of the building has been symmetrically arranged, because the Hungarian parliament was originally composed of two houses (Upper and Lower Houses- now the Congress Hall and the Assembly Hall).
My A Walkur Ticket...

This is my A Walkur ticket !
Keeping this as a memory for that memorable night at the Opera House in Budapest with a truly wonderful French friend Alain.
On the ticket, you can see the venue, the time, the seat & the price of the show, but I saw it for free anyway...
Chain bridge during the summer
by ophiro
During the summer weekends (on saturday and sunday) the chain bridge in the middle of Budapest becomes a pedestrian only area and you will be able to enjoy a non-traffic area with food stands , gifts stands , live shows and great atmosphere.
Beside the nice "festival" the view from here is lovely with the Buda castle on one side and Roosvelt square on the other side.
Margaret Island - The silence inside the city
by RuiPT
This green oasis is located between Buda and Pest. It’s connected to Budapest by two bridges; this is the place where you’ll see family picnics, teenagers playing football and children splashing on water slides. The Palatinus Strand, the city’s largest open-air swimming complex, is also equipped with three pools and segregated nude sunbathing areas! The island also boasts a wide variety of gardens: a stately rose garden, a rock garden with goldfish pond, and a Japanese garden featuring water lilies. The park’s wildlife is not limited to fish, however, since there are also goats, sheep, and peacocks in the mini-zoo. I really recommend to take a walk in the island (there are no cars inside) to relax from a hard day or a busy day.
Statue Park. All the statues...

Statue Park. All the statues from the communist era were rounded up and displayed in a park on the edge of the city, not as bad as it sounds! we enjoyed. It's a bit of a trek by public transport, but thats part of the fun I think. I've found a leaflet for this so - go to Ferenciek ter on the blue metro line #3 then onto bus 7 or 173 to Etele ter terminus then onto yellow bus ( travel cards are not good for these!) 2 or 3 to Diosd-Erd. It took around 45 mins statues are huge!
