A very good four star hotel at a good price!

Best (5.0 of 5.0 stars)

Well, where should I start?I've seen this hotel quite a few times when I've been looking for a hotel in Budapest(been 8 times). The hotel isn't close to the river. But,that isn't a problem because there are regular buses in the main street(2mins walk) from the hotel(it take 5 mins to Astoria). It's about ten mins walk to the nearest metro.About the same to the Keleti railway station.

The hotel itself was immaculately kept. The room I had was on the inside of the building. This overlooked the breakfast room(the ones front would only look at another building). The room itself was of a good size(see photo's) and was very clean. The bed in the room had a good mattress on it(on the firm side). The bathroom was a little small. But,it wasn't enough to worry about.I was surprised to find that the floor of it was heated! The only real negative thing about the room was.It was a little dark until the sun rose properly in the sky. But,that what lights are for!

Their breakfast starts at 7am on weekdays,7.30 at weekends. The breakfast itself had a large range of choice.Fry egg, scramble egg, boiled eggs, sausages, bacon, hash browns, beans and cooked tomatoes. There was bread(3 types),cheese, meats, cereals, yogurts and fruits/vegetables.There was also a range of fruit juices(3) and hot drinks. The bacon was a little over cooked for my liking. But,it seems to be cooked like the that in Hungary. All the rest of the food was cooked to a good standard.

There is a small bar at the hotel. But,its situated at the side of the reception. So,you'll be sitting in the reception area if you wanted to have a drink. That wasn't a problem! There are quite a few bars/restaurants within easy walking distance of the hotel.

The staff in the hotel were very friendly and attentive. There wasn't anything that was too much trouble.I was so happy with my week stay in March.I've booked another week in June.I would happily recommend this hotel.

Directions: Just off a main street.

Boutique modern

Great (4.0 of 5.0 stars)

We were very happy with the standard of accommodation, security and amenities of the Bristol Hotel during a four night stay. Fit out is very modern.
We arrived in Budapest at Kelti station and the Bristol is only a five minute walk away - One stop if a bus is preferred.
As well as that, it is well placed to access city public transport on Metro, Bus & Tram. A two kilometre walk along Rákóczi út (street) will take you to the river but the public transport options are great (suggest you get a 48 hour or 72 hour pass).
Staff were very helpful in recommending a restaurant in which to dine (see review) and specially helpful when we arranged an early check-out. They provided a breakfast package.
The inclusive buffet breakfast was excellent and included hot dishes as well as the usual Continental style offerings.(Available weekday between 07.00 and 10.30 a.m. - weekend between 07.30 and 11.00 a.m)
There is a drinks bar so a relaxing time can be had in the lounge after a hard day’s touristic activity.
Although we did not try them a sauna and exercise room are available.
Free WIFI plus a free laptop is available also. As you would expect, there is laundry service and a luggage room if you need to put luggage aside before checking in or after checking out.

Unique Quality: We voted the establishment better than average and declared that the price was less than what we were used to paying for the same quality. Less than one hundred dollars Australian per room per night - breakfast included.

Directions: Easily accessed by walking 560m from Kelti Station west sth west along Rákóczi út
