The Way to Stay in Budapest

Got a huge place in a great location (Wesselenti Street) about a mile from the river so I was able to walk to all the sites. It felt like I was staying in the real Budapest instead of a place where they house tourists.

great locations!

We went through To-Ma tours to rent a room in a private apartment for our stay. However, because of a small mix-up on their part, they upgraded us to an apartment in a terrific, central location.

As mentioned on my homepage, the apartment was a true Soviet-era relic. A very interesting way to get an insight into where and how people lived.

Regarding price, I gave the price for a private room. Apartments generally cost more.

Unique Quality: A large room with bed, fold out sofa, tv, desk, and bureau. There was also a kitchen and full bath.

accommodation in Budapest

by slavka

Hallo,
at the start of July we would like to visit Budapest for 2 days and we are looking for cheap accommodation everywhere in Budapest next to metro (underground). Does anybody know real cheap accomodation? For us is not problem to sleep in together bedroom or in some backpackerś accomodation (hostel or whichever type of accomodation).
The most cheapest accomodation is the best for us.
Our budget is max.15 Euro/1 person /1 night, but cheaper is better.
If anybody knows some e-mail contacts, it is the best way.
Thank you very much for your answers

I had great luck with To-Ma apartments in Budapest. They were great to deal with, and had self-serve apts in all price ranges. I believe that there is no minimum nights for stays...although we were there for about a week.

good luck.

How many people are you talking about? I found a couple of places that you rent by the room and not by the person, so while it was $40-50 USD per night, the cost per person would have been much lower.

Check out www.budapesthotelsearch.com and www.citycentreapartments.hu/english/index.html

I got very good deals there, although the Marianne apartment from the first link was a nicer place than the citycentreapartment place I stayed. Marianne was also about 2 blocks closer to the subway entrances. :-)

Enjoy Budapest, it is a fabulous city!

You can www.budapest-apartment-rent.com. They offer several apartments. Their prices are very reasonable, considering the ideal location. Good luck.

Try www.gotobudapest.co.uk, if you are more than 2 there is a flat for a reasonable price in a good location close to the river and public transport.
