Balcony Apartment Budapest: Peaceful Budapest Apartment

by josh.kirsh

Great apartment deal for the price of a hotel room. I hope to return to Budapest and stay here again. We saved money too by using kitchen and cooking our meals. Supermarket on the corner. This is a nice neighborhood, maybe the safest. For the four nights we stayed here we never saw anything that came close to this choice of locale. Good to know we made perhaps the best choice. Thanks to the owner who was very helpful and informative.

The corner bathtub is amazing, it is even have a view to the garden.

Danubius Hotels Group: Best place to splurge when not on a budget

by TheHunn

While not inexpensive, it is still an excellent value for what you pay for and has the best secluded locations which are still in the city.

Can combine a way to treat yourself to a more upscale experience when wanting to combine with value added health and wellness care such as spa treatment, massages and referrals to inexpensive (by "western" standards) dental and health care. Good place to recuperate from elective cosmetic surgery - very popular for North Americans and Western Europeans for relative value.

Hotel KK Opera: Budapest Central Hotel

by sussexman

we stayed at KK OPera Hotel last week, just 50 metres from Opera House in Andrassy Utca. Hotel is modern and quiet in side street. Breakfast is a feast, but there is only a cafe/brasserie to eat other times , serving light meals on fixed menu (expensive) A cappucino will cost you 800 HFL, almost £2.75. However there are many places to eat in the near vicinity, especially the Callas Restaurant, which being next to the Opera House has a post Opera menu for about 3000 HFL (2 courses). for a coffee and cake go to Kavehaz MUVESZ.,right opposite the Opera House, a Viennese style cafe. For lovers of Opera you will be in 7th heaven, when staying at KK Opera Hotel, just 1 minutes walk away.
staff were very friendly and helpful, and can arrange most requests

near Opera House and main shopping in Andrassy utca

Danubius Thermal Hotel Margitsziget: The top of the line.

by jonbarb709

Its not hard to describe : the hotel is really a great place to stay. First of all its clean. Their is maid service everyday and if you need something extra they are ready and willing to handle it. The SPA facilities are fantastic. The best part of the facilities are the staff.
They are helpful, courteous, and very knowledgeable in what they are doing. The food - more than you need. There is even salad items for breakfast, along with the standards, of eggs, meat, potatoes, cereal, fruits, juices, coffee, tea and deserts and a number of kinds of bread. The supper meal is overwelming, at least 6 entrees, something for everyone, (we had duck, rabbit, goose, fish, veal, beef, chicken , turkey, spagetti, - too many to mention) and again a huge salad bar. There is always music at supper, either a harp player or a small group playing gypsy music. You also have the option of eating at the Grand Hotel next door, its about 10 yards away and you can either walk outside or walk the tunnel that connects the hotels.
There is a bar in the lobby area and there was piano music every night. There is also a small restaurant in the hotel and a nice place to have coffee and dessert once in a while. There is an indoor and outdoor, a work out room, a thermal pool, sauna, and just a place to sit an relax around the pools. A great 3 weeks treat yourself.

Trying to describe the outstanding qualities is really hard - because they were all outstanding. The facilities, the staff, the food, the overall feeling while you are there is outstanding.

Hotel Medosz: Good Budget Hotel w/ a Flavor of pre-1990 Hungary

by Over60

I have stayed here twice, in 2001 and 2005. The hotel is favorably located, just off a major thoroughfare that leads to the center, which is less than fifteen minutes by foot away. There is a pleasant park right in front of the hotel. The facilities are about what one would expect in a two star hotel in Central Europe, small lobby, clean rooms, and adequate service. On both my visits, the desk clerks spoke good English. All in all, very good value for the money.

The hotel has a distinct "socialist" ambience and may well have served as a hotel for workers visiting the city on holiday during the communist era. The breakfast room is decorated with an enormous number of pairs of antlers and other hunting paraphanelia. I don't recall ever seeing anything quite like it.

Private Houyse: Private House

by Sambawalk

The stay in Budapest was ok. A provate apartment with cooking facilities (basic) costs EUR35. It was alright. The easilest way to get the information is from those agent located in tehrailway station. Comparatively, a 2-3 star hotel in town costs EUR70 at least.

Mayers Mini Hotel: Room with a view

by tini58de

Absolutely centrally located place!!! They have 5 rooms (one with the bathroom ensuite - room *4 - which was our room), the others all with private bathroom across the hallway.

VERY personal place with great service: we were concerned about not being able to lock our door from the inside - and after we had complained on Sunday morning it was fixed when we returned later in the afternoon.... We were also allowed to leave our luggage in the lobby on our departure day until we picked it up around 6 p.m!

The courtyard was wonderful - we have enjoyed the café more than once!

Only drawback might have been (definitely not for us) that we had the room totally to ourselves, so there was no room service during our stay (meaning no cleaning up during this time!)

They do have a little kitchen there for everybody to use including a sink, a refrigerator (but there is a frigde in your room as well), a micro wave, a stove and some cups and plates.

When we booked, we booked through budapesthotels.hu

This was totally okay, but we never did get the private telephone number of the place - plus they sure did get some provision.... Still, if you like to have a look at some more pictures, click on the link!

The landlady gave me the private address and maybe it is even less expensive this way!

Oh, we paid 40 € per night/room without breakfast
