Reformed Brutalism
by antistar
The local authorities of Pecs have tarted up some of the uglier communist legacies in the Tirana style; a splash of paint can soften even the cruelest of concrete monsters. Here in Pecs they've gone for pastel shades applied in a series of sunrise tones. The effect is definitely more pleasing on the eye than grey.
Varoszhaza - The Town Hall
by croisbeauty
Varoszhaza or the Town Hall is situated in the heart of the city on Szechenyi ter (the Main Square). The present building, the former Council Hall, was built in the beginning of 20th century in an eclectic style. The immense mass of the building does not fit into the historic town centre, it clashes with the intimate, small town atmosphere of the square.

You see them all over Pecs, Signs of the Turkis, Ottoman occupation of 150-years in Hungary. You see baths, churches and these tall towers used for daily pray in the Islamic religion. Now days we see them as part of Hungary's history and the Turkish people actually like Hungarians and the other way around is also true.
Hungarian specialty
by cobrioc about Csaszar Pince
Hidden in cellar near the Cathedral and the Bishop's Palace,
serves top notch food with highly attentive and polite service. A full service bar is also available at Csaszar Pince Chicken breast served with rice and almonds. The dessert was the tasty Hungarian specialty of somloi galuska, a crepe stuffed with assorted goodies like cocoa, crushed nuts, raisins, candied, orange peel, etc., then topped with a rich chocolate sauce.
