RE: pecs map?
In addition to CyberCroats recommendations, here are two more:
This site has street maps to all the Hungarian settlements, not just Pecs.
Put Pecs into the "Magyarországi település térképének keresése:" field and zoom in for more details.
or http://www.utak.hu then click on British flag for English
Site has street maps for the larger settlements (2930 out of the 5xxx) and also it is set up to find routes between two addresses.
Hope this helps.

Travel Tips for Pecs
Szechenyi Square is the heart of the city, one of the most attractive city squares in Hungary. It's anchored at the northern end by the imposing Pasha Gazi Kassim Mosque, in the middle there are the Trinity statue and the statue of Janos Hunyadi and at the southern end by the Church of the Good Samaritans. At the eastern end there is a famous Nador hotel (originally it was the parish office), while at the western the Saving Bank (today a office block).
The defending tower
The whole northern part of the old core is fortified by the huge city-walls. This is so-called Barbakan, the only remaining bastion-defending tower of the walls, which is very well preserved. In the back of the bastion stands the Episcopal Court of Pecs.
Pécs is situated in a valley, so the climate can be either VERY hot in the summer and fairly cold in the winter. The winters aren't that long though, but during summer, the temperature can rise up to above 35C.
Of course you can buy anything in Pécs, you're not exactly stranded... :)

A restaurant up in Mecsek (the mountain north of Pécs) called Tettye - extremely good food, you get the typical Hungarian dishes to a very good price. This is a restaurant where tha locals go, and have done so for a long time. Across the street there are the ruins of an old monastery (?) and the view from here is ...breathtaking!
7625 Pécs, Tettye tér 4.
For breakfast, consider visiting the Lemon Cafe on Citrom utca, where the specialty is delicious omelets and the best coffee in town.
Later in the day, try the Bagolyvar at Tettye in the hills just outside of town. Excellent for warm-weather dining, the Bagolyvar allows you to enjoy goulash, venison and the best local wines while seated at a table on the restaurant's outdoor terrace.
Along with Pecs' very agreeable, ice-cream consumption conducive climate comes a relaxed cafe-based lifestyle, with tables positioned on the generous pavements and pedestrian thoroughfares of Citrom Utca, Kiraly Utca and Ferencesek Utcaja. All of this provides for a very Central European feel.
