I used to work in the hospitality industry, so I can describe this hotel as a comptetitor or collegue, not as a guest. But, I did reserve rooms for friends there, and they all liked it.
The three star hotel is a modern building designed by a famous local architect, Sándor Dévényi. It opened in 2000 and has 25 rooms. (Extension is planned, will probably happen in 2008/2009.) It is a 5 minute (a bit uphill) walk away from the main square of the city, the Széchenyi tér.
Four rooms out of the 25 in this 3 star hotel have a unique panoramic view. One floor out of the three is strictly for non-smokers. All rooms have TV, telephone line and minibar. There is a restaurant with a capacity of up to 60 people, a garden area for up to 30 people, and a garage for 12 cars. There is parking space for a bus and an outdoor swimming pool (sad as it is, no other hotel has that in Pécs). Pets are allowed.
The staff is kind.
Unique Quality: Great location, comfortable rooms, breakfast included, half board available, laundry service, pets allowed, garden, outdoor pool, safe parking in own garage.
Directions: On the hillside, right above (North of) Széchenyi Square
We stayed in one of the panorama rooms, and had a nice view of the church on the Dom ter. In addition, the air-conditioning, the pool in the back, a parking garage, friendly staff and a good breakfast made our stay a relaxing one. I would definitely stay there again, and would recommend it to others. Panorama double room was 75 Euros (June 2004)
Unique Quality: Great view, clean pool, parking garage. Quick walk into town.
Directions: Just outside the city wall, with a view to the 4 towers of the church on Dom ter.
