The castle park is lovely. A good place tov stroll in summer, but absolutely freezing the day in which we had the opportunity to viist it! It was just mid-November, but the wind was so incredibly cold!

Biking

Biking around Balaton Lake can be very diverting, especially in this kind of bike and if in so pleasent company.
I usualy take my bike in the car when visiting area of Balaton. It is undaubtely the best way to explore all this small places well connected with the bike paths.

In the middle of April I made a 8 days trip to West - Balaton Region - Hungary. This is the part of Hungary suitable to spend vacation.
Keszthely, a charming small town, is the "capital of Balaton". It is located in north west part of Balaton Lake, next to multicolured lake.

Keszthely is a small town located at the western shore of Lake Balaton in Hungary. It is an old market town settled since Roman times at least. In this town was established the first academy in Europe for the education of farmers (1797) and Keszthely is still a university town as the Faculty for Agriculture of Veszprém University is located there. It is the largest town in the Balaton Region with growing tourist industry and only a stone´s throw away from the spa town of Hévíz and from the beaches of the lake.
