Weddings Begin At The Castle

Dont be surprised if you visit the castle of Keszthely in weekend and you see there young coupels who just married or on the way to do it. A lot of them coming to the Castle and doing pictures just before the happy event.
Helikon Kastelymuzeum

I love books..... and I was so crazy about the library of this museum. Actually its library of 10.000 volumes is the most complete aristocratic collection in Hungary to have been left... so it´s the highlight of the museum. Not only for me.
In Winter- See the Castle!
by TexasDave
Although this is a bustling place in Summer due to being on the waterfront- not too much is happening in winter. We made a quick pass thru the downtown or Centrum and then walked over to the Castle now known as The Helikon Castle Museum. Don't expect a tour in English, they'll just give you a couple of sheets with explanations that you can read as you go. But it is still worth it.
Interestingly, the name of the city is derived from Latin "castellum" because the Romans built a fort here in the 4th century.
There were no signs indicating that this was the entrance so at first we were a little hesitant to go in. But we were right, this is where you enter.
Although the whole tour is impressive, the jewel of the Castle is the Library, as seen here. In the middle the doors slide open to reveal a spiral staircase that gives access to the upper tier of books. This collection has about 100,000 books in different languages and is the only aristocratic library from the 1700's still in tact in Hungary.
