Lake View Hungary: Kistolmacs english owned Self Catering House

Kistolmacs is nestled in a picturesque wooded valley in the Zala region of Hungary, where we found as visitors to the village we experienced a slow pace of life combined with a beach style atmosphere being right in front of the lake, including the hire of pedaloes. The lake is also a popular fishing lake and is regularly stocked with fishermen lining the end of the lake separate to the swimmers.

Being there in the high season we found the lake side came alive in the day time as visitors enjoyed everything that you would normally find next to the beach (all but the sand). However when the visitors left the environment was restored to its tranquil location that we expected from this beautiful part of Hungary.

The villagers offer a number of places to eat from snack bars to a restaurant, all offering alcoholic refreshment. There is a small village shop that provided us with the essentials and a supermarket that was only five minutes away. During our stay we enjoyed a trip on the open top narrow gauge railway network, which was a short walk from the house. It connects Kistolmacs to neighbouring villages via a scenic route through the wooded country side.

We found that Holidaying in Hungary offers a relaxing break and something for everyone. Partaking in activities, and eating and drinking out is extremely inexpensive compared to UK prices, thus allowing for a complete carefree holiday.

Being right in front of the lake waking up to the view it provides was fantastic and the locals are all so friendly a fantastic experience.

Also being on the major cycle route that is signposted guiding you through the route making sure that tourists do not miss out on some of the spectacular views that are found in this area of Hungary.
