This was our first overnight stop of the vacation, so we decided to stay at a nice hotel to ease ourselves in. Hotel Geysir fit the bill quite nicely. The "Hotel" is actually a series of cabins split into two rooms, each with private facilities. Some rooms (including ours) had hot tubs in the room! The complex itself has a pool and hot tub, so don't despair if your room doesn't have a private hot tub. We were quite happy our room had one, though... ;) Breakfast costs extra: about ISK 1,150 per person -- rather pricey, but it's a very nice breakfast spread... plus the picture windows of the breakfast room look out on the geothermal area. There's nothing quite like watching Strokkur erupt between sips of coffee.
Did I mention the HOT TUB??!! ;-)

Hotel Geysir is situated next to the geysirs. You won't miss it. You are staying at a 'log cabin'. There are 2 rooms in one of those 'log cabins'. It is really comfortable. There are 2 single beds, chairs, tv and bathroom. Faxnumber: +354-480-6801 Email: geysir@geysircenter.is
