Arnanes: Accomodation in 5 different spots

Arnanes Guesthouse has rooms scattered on a few differents places.
There's a main cluster of buildings with small cottages, where the reception and restaurant are and other houses elsewhere in the village.
The owner checked us in to a couple rooms in a cottage about 1Km from the main house. It looks like it once was a family home, turned into a little guesthouse. There's a living room with kitchenette. You can use the kettle, cups etc, but not the oven.
There's a buffet dinner for a fixed amount (a bit overpriced). The food was good, though a bit repetitive in some of the ingredients (cod, lamb, lamb, cod).
Good breakfast, which is included in the price of the room.

The rooms we were given we ok, with private and nicely appointed bathrooms. Our quad had too much light, though. It had no door between the actual bedroom and the corridor to our private bathroom and there was this window right beside the "door", from where we could be seen from the deck or window of the living room, besides the amount of light at all times (summer...). No to mention a long window on the top of the wall above the main bed. That one we could't cover at all.

Brunholl: A window in front of a glacier

This beautiful Farm/Guesthouse is very very nice. The rooms are big and very clean. The food is fantastic and the owners are friendly and they help you if you want more informations about to see or if you are trouble. Thanks for the nice rest!!:)

Unique Quality: The farms have got 12 big rooms and if you want there is also a Kitchen where you can cooking by yourself. Otherwise you can eat the good food that the owners make for you :). Near the farm there is a glacier and about 100 km west there is Jokursalon and 30 Km east there is Hofn. The landscaper that you can see from the window is fantastic!!!

Hofn Youth Hostel...: Very Comfortable Place...

I stayed in Hofn Youth Hostel for 2 nights ! Very comfortable place ! Very clean...
In here, I met many travellers from all around the world & we exchanged infos & news about Iceland.
As usual (all the Youth Hostels in Iceland), when arrive...if there's nobody there, just call the number which definitely be visible to you & the girl would come & see you right away.
Caution : We are NOT allowed to wear shoes & boots inside The Youth Hostel (as ALL Youth Hostels around Iceland).
So, bring a pair of sandals or walking bare-feet inside the hostel, which is just excellent for me !



Unique Quality: Please tell the bus driver (if you arrive here by bus...) that you would be going to The Youth Hostel because the bus would drive a bit further & drop you just infront of the hostel !
This would save you from carrying your luggage all the way to the hostel. If by walking, would take you around 15 to 20 minutes...
Nevertheless, the bus WON'T pick you at the hostel, so you need to walk to the station...
