Great brand new rooms by the Blue Lagoon
This is the obvious hotel to stay a last night before taking off.
Thank you agapotravel for your tip!
It's the perfect location to spend the last night after an afternoon soaking in the Blue Lagoon.
The hotel is being refurbished and has additional brand new rooms, like our ( a room for 4, with one double bed with a single bed on each side.
Flat screen TV, desk, small wardrobe and bathroom with spacious shower cabin.
Breakfast provided for early flight departures (from 5.15am).
Shuttle available for the airport and lagoon (we had our own car, dind't try this service).
Restaurant serves dinner with several tasty choices at a reasonable price for icelandic standards.
Unique Quality: Our rates on July 25th

Northern Light Inn
In the middle of nowhere you will find this lovely hotel. It is the only hotel next to the Blue Lagoon.
In this hotel you will find 20 rooms. They are really spacious.
In September 2007 I paid for a single room ISK 10300. For a double room it was ISK 14000. When you are staying for 2 or more nights at this hotel, they will give you a discount on the rates. I was there for 2 nights, so they gave me 10% discount.

Country Cottage Charm
A very different stay at what's basically a very large bungalow on the edge of the Blue Lagoon facility. The hotel has around 20 or so rooms and the general feel is that you're staying in a good friends house in the middle of nowhere, rather than just another faceless hotel. There's not a whole lot to do outside of the Lagoon itself, so those winter evenings tend to find the guests sitting around the fire in the central area with cups of tea and the odd laptop for company. This may sound frightfully tedious, but in actual fact the overall effect is quite charming and great for unwinding - especially, if like many, you elect to make here your last destination before heading to Keflavik airport.
Unique Quality: The hotel is a matter of yards from Iceland's famous Blue Lagoon. That's fairly unique enough; add in the views of mountains, lava fields and the geothermal Svartsengi Power Plant at the rear, and this probably isn't like anywhere else you've stayed.
