A good hotel in the middle of the town
by Cristian_Uluru
This hotel is very good. It is situated just a minute from Laugavegur, the shopping street of Reykjavik and it is far five minutes from Tjorn and City Hall. The rooms are good a clean and the staff is very friendly.
Unique Quality: In this hotel there is a very good continental breakfast. The hotel is just few minutes far from the city hall and the Old Town.

Hotel Klopp

Very pleasant experience! Comfy, comfy beds - best sleep I've had in awhile! Don't know the price as it was part of a package deal, but I enjoyed the stay quite a lot. It was situated pretty much in the city center and within walking distance to just about everything (yes, even in the winter!).
Unique Quality: Great location, comfortable rooms, very helpful staff. Would recommend this to anyone looking for some comfort and would definetly stay here again!
Directions: City Center

We stayed here for a few days at the beginning of our trip and at the end. It's beautiful and clean, the staff are very friendly, the breakfast is great and the hotel is within walking distance of everything in Reykjavik.
The room we had at the beginning of our trip was right on Klapparstigur across from a pub. Even though our first night sleeping there was a Thursday night, the place was packed and loud with live music. This was easily remedied with ear plugs. The other nights, we were out partying with everyone anyway, so the noise was no bother. Any hotel in Reykjavik 101 area will probably be loud at night, I'd imagine. At the end of our trip our room was located at the back of the hotel and it was much quieter.
The rooms are decorated simply and attractively in white and red. The beds were very comfortable and everything was very clean. We paid about $85 per night, which was a fantastic deal (through Hotels.com I think). We plan to stay here the next time we are in Reykjavik. The breakfast at CenterHotel Klopp was one of my favorites of the trip. Although the food was just the usual fare -- bread, hard-boiled eggs, ham, vegetables, melon, coffee, juice -- it all seemed very fresh and the dining room is surrounded by windows which makes it a lovely place to start the day.
An Omelet and a Party-Place In One?

I have never had breakfast at 9:00am at the same place where I'd have cocktails at midnight. But at Prikið you can do just that!
We arrived in Reykjavik at 9:00am and after checking into the hotel we were desperate for a hot breakfast. Luckily, after walking just 5 minutes from our hotel (CenterHotel Klopp), we stumbled across this cute diner. We had omelets and lattes and they were great. Friendly and quick service and tasty food, plus loads of charm.
At the weekend, when we were out prowling the clubs like the locals, we again ended up at Prikið for dancing and drinks. It was amazing! We had create-your-own omelets -- very tasty!
