I stayed at hotel Park Inn 3 nights in a doublen room.
It is located in the new center of Reykjavik, a beautiful 20 minutes easy walk from the old city center, along the Atlantic. There is a bus station very close to the hotel, with buses connecting with the city center and the outskirts of Reykjavik. Within a short walking distance there are a big spa, a park and a botanical garden.
The room was clean, warm, spatious and bright and included coffee and tea making facilities.
The breakfast offered meat and diary products, eggs, vegetables, fruits and cakes, an excellent start of the day.
During winter, the hotel restaurant is closed but there are 2 restaurant options with home delivery and a few other restaurants within a short walk.
The staff is promt and nice.
With the Flybus+ you are dropped off directly at your hotel from the airport and picked up at the hotel to the airport.
Park Inn was an excellent experience and I would always stay again there.
Very good hotel. The rooms are comfortable and sparse (applying the Scandanavian design sensibilty). The place is very well attended and clean. I troubled the front desk with all sorts of questions about Reykjavik and they were always very helpful (in English). They even made inquires so that I coud secure tickets to a hot rock concert that was going on at the time and a national team soccer match. This was my first contact with Icelandic hospitality and it was great. They do an excellent free breakfast buffet here in the morning...with every imagineable breakfast food. On the downside the room rate is pretty expensive....but this is typical for Iceland. And it is not located in the heart of Reykjavik...but in a commercial district to the east. You can take a cab, ride a public bus, or even take a nice walk (a mile or two) to the heart of the city. It is a short distance from the main Reykjavik shopping mall, if you are into it that sort of thing.
