More about Daly's House
loved susan's place
by A TripAdvisor Member
when we arrived at susan daly's b and b in doolin, ireland, she offered us tea, showed us our rooms and let us relax in the very comfortable living room. the rooms were comfortable, the food good and the hospitality outstanding. the house is new, but fits in with its rural surroundings. from its windows you can see ocean cliffs, farms and an old stone tower.
susan's place is a two minute walk to a great pub and a quaint irish village. take a couple more minutes and walk to the ocean where you can look across and see the aran islands. there is a ferry from doolin to the aran islands, but my advice is get there first thing in the morning or possibly book a day early.
we picked this b and b only because we have the same last name, but we are not related and were happy that this coincidence resulted in a "happy ending."
Thank you Susan!

We are still coming down from our trip to Ireland, but I had to write to say how much we enjoyed our stay at Daly's! Susan and her daughter Kate could not have been more lovely. We loved being able to walk around the corner to O'Connor's to enjoy the traditional music, but were far away enough not to hear the late night crowds. Breakfast included the best sausages we had during our stay in Ireland (and I'm not a sausage fan, but you can't get away from them in Ireland!) My husband loved the eggs with Burren smoked salmon. On our last morning, Susan sent us off with a loaf of delicious Irish soda bread, which made parting a little easier. We stayed in the family room, which was actually 2 rooms with a nice walk in closet and bathroom for 100 euro a night in high season. As others have mentioned, Susan only takes cash. We discovered that Paddy Doolin's hostel down the road will change traveler's cheques, which is important, since Doolin has no bank or ATM at present, and the traveling bank that comes through on Thursdays is only for Bank of Ulster customers--no help to us. The ferry to the Aran Islands is about a mile away--an easy walk, and to Inish Oir is only 40 minutes--worth the trip. Note for wheelchair users--the main house is all on one floor, but the house we were in--with the family room--has two steps up to the house. Roads in Doolin are also quite bumpy, so be prepared for that. Also, the ferry cannot take wheelchairs if the tide is out, so check to see when the tides are in so that you can board via the quite narrow gangplank. Daly's was our favorite place to stay on our 11 day trip--we will definitely be back.
Good standards and friendly, but not out of the ordinary !

Was expecting something 'out of the ordinary' based on the rave reviews. Our room was modern, spacious and clean, but the house is about 10 mins up a very dark lane - so it was a bit scary walking back from the town at night. The house fills quickly, but they have an over-flow house nearby, but you have to go over to the main-house for breakfast. It is run by friendly staff, who provide local info.
Excellent B & B

My teenage son and I stayed at Daly's B & B the first night we arrived in Ireland. We were welcomed warmly by Susan and her daughter and offered coffee, tea and a snack. Our room was very clean and comfortable, the full Irish breakfast was excellent. Daly's is a short walk to O'Connor's Pub and the Ferry to the Aran Islands. Doolin is a great place! We had a wonderful start to our trip to Ireland and I highly recommend Daly's B & B.
Warm welcome, beautiful county

I heard such wonderful reviews about Clare and especially Doolin I had to visit this magical place and it lived up to all expectations. It began when I drove into the village that reminded me of Brigadoon, A small village at the bottom of a valley. I chose Daly's as some of my friends had stayed with the Daly familiy and had great things to say about Susan. Susan went out of her way to make us feel welcome and provided more than the full accomodation package.. clean rooms, good views, warm house, frendly staff, excellent breakfast and a mind of local information. There was also beautiful flowers throughout the house! the two dogs and family run business make this home more appealing. After we had checked in and had tea and a chat with our host we headed to O'Connors pub. We had a good value dinner there and enjoyed listening to the music for the night. the next day we travelled the Burren region on Susans recommendations, we advise bringing a jacket as the Dolmen is in an open field. Our overall experience of Doolin was a wonderful one and we will be visiting again in the very near future!

I have just returned from Doolin after spending a weekend at Dalys B&B.
Susan is truly a great hostess and takes such wonderful care of all her customers.
Her rooms are very bright and clean and the beds are so comfortable.
My husband and I had breakfast in a beautiful conservatory every morning try the scrambled eggs and smoked salmon, a real treat.
Susan was there to advise on the best sights to see every day and where the best music was to be heard at night.
Her location is wonderful and check out her garden!!
You will love Susan.
Dalys B&B

I have just spent the last few days in Doolin
at Dalys B&B.
My husband and I had the most wonderful stay with Susan at her home.
Susan runs a fantastic home for her guests who travel from all over the world to spend time in Doolin. She offers the best advice on what to do in the area.
Our room had a great view of O'Briens Castle and we enjoyed her garden very much.
Her house is only 3 minutes walk from Doolin village and be sure to visit O'Connors Pub.
I would recommend Dalys B&B for the
wonderful attention you receive.
Fantastic B@B Daly's House

My husband and I spent 2 nights at Susan Daly's B'B.
Friends of mine had stayed with Susan 2 years ago and just raved about Daly's House. It was our first time in Ireland and Dalys House was a great beginning to our holiday.
Susan took such great care of us when our car broke down. She took care of everything and we truly appreciated her kindness.
Her home is in a wonderful location with views of the Aran Islands and the Cliffs of Moher.
Her rooms are spotless with wonderful facilities and her beds are very comfortable.
Every morning we had a great breakfast in her conservatory. Susan recommended the very best sights for my husband and I to visit on a daily basis. It was a great pleasure to meet Susan and stay in her wonderful home, we will be back soon.
A Pure Irish Delight

Several friends and I were fortunate enough to stay at the Daly House this past August for another friend's wedding. We enjoyed every moment of our stay. Susan Daly, our gracious host and innkeeper, was a pleasure from the time our reservations were made until after our departure.
Two of us were backpacking across Europe prior to our arrival. Because we were travling light, I had our suit and dress shipped from the US long before getting to Ireland. Susan graciously accepted the package, e-mailed me of the arrival and took good care of it until I got there.
The accommodations were wonderfully modern, clean and comfortable. Breakfast each morning was prompt and delicious.
I highly recommend this B&B to anyone of thinking about heading toward Doolin!
Wonderful place, wonderful people!

I got married in Doolin in June 2005, and many of my guests (all from the USA) stayed at Daly's. Susan took care of our group as though we were family. She helped us with our preparations, accepted packages sent ahead of time from my guests, and provided constant warmth and hospitality unlike any of us had ever experienced. She saw to our every need, and made suggestions to assist us. The accommodations were spotlessly clean, and so comfortable. The breakfast rooms were a treat! My guests had a wonderful time, and are still raving about Susan and Daly's B&B. We're grateful to Susan for her part in our fantastic experience. Anyone who decides to stay here is making a good choice!
