    One of the local hostels

    by

This place was not open in January but it was so pretty from the outside and in such a great location. Then later when we stayed in a hostel in Kilarney that recommended this place, I had to include it. I would stay here. Doolin is split almost into 2 different villages and this hostel is right in the middle. From the ad I picked up at the other hostel....fully stocked self catering kitchen,no charge for showers or linens, free laundry including soap, and lots of traditional music. Free email and internet access. Sounds like a dream to me when traveling.

Unique Quality: Beautiful location on the river.

    Allie Rive Hostel

€11.50 per person for a dorm room - ask for a smaller room if it's quiet. We had a four bed room for just two of us

Unique Quality: Kitchen - far cleaner and better stocked than most hostels I've stayed in
No extra charge for showers or linen
Free laundry, including washing powder - use of the tumble dryer is €2

Directions: Halfway between the two villages of Doolin, the hostel is a shortway down the road just opposite the road from the Cliffs of Moher

Another good Hostel was the Aille River Hostel in Doolin. Doolin is a little place near the cliffs of Moher. And you can sleep in rooms or camp behind the hostel.

hike the cliffs of mohor

by TyDoRo

If going to experience the cliffs of mohor in ireland, dont just go to the visitor center with all the package tours. I suggest either hiking from doolin to the visitor center or the other way around. Ask in town for directions to the beginning of the hike. Aille river hostel gave me directions. The hike takes about 2 1/2 hours and is absolutely amazing. Bring good shoes and be careful not to fall of the cliffs, that would put a damper on your holiday. Seriously though, the hike goes right along the cliffs and is mostly unmarked, be careful!!
