Don't go there
From the time we booked in till the time we checked out nothing but trouble. On arrival we had booked a family room, but they told us they overbooked so they squeezed three double beds into one room. On the first night a football party took place in the hotel with fighting in the hotel car park in front of children, parties in rooms througout the night, staff informed by multiple guests but they didn't seem to care even told by some staff that there co workers were the ones staying there that night. Next morning got some lame excuse from an incompantent manager. The second night the locals from the area decided to come into the hotel bar which is fine but when hotel guests are forced to sit in the foyer to drink with a sign on th main door guests only it's a bit ridiculos. Then to cap things off they decide to overchange when leaving. We weren't the only ones at the desk the next morning fighting over addin's on the bill. WARNING stay away. Enis is a beautiful town to visit but this shack is a case of drive on.
Your usuall sleep over place
Hotel located 22 km from Shannon Airport. Taxi will cost you from 32-35 Euro. Take the cab from the airport office. Bus ride to Ennis 12 Euro per person. Last buses leave at 9 p.m. and midnight.
Building is a large complex with endless aisles. Hotel has a good capacity for conferencess, meetings etc. Staff friendly mostly local and from eastern Europe (Poland, Slovakia). Bar closed during the day. Kitchen open ´till 10 p.m. Hotel located good 20 minutes on foot from Ennis downtown. Restaurant cooking ok but nothing special. Breakfast ok, good variety. Room basic, well heated. Noisy at night, due to the thin walls.
Ennis town -not mutch there to see. Bring warm clothing.
Have a good trip.
OK for one night
We stayed at the Lynch West County Hotel (Best Western) the first night of our honeymoon in Ireland. The hotel is very convenient to Shannon Airport, and is right off the N18 into Ennis, making it very easy to find - especially for a first time driver in Ireland! The hotel has a good-sized car park. We arrived well before our check-in time, but the desk attendant was able to get us a room within 30 minutes, and sent up a fan as soon as we asked for one. The room was clean. We had to have a staff person explain the shower - my wife has travelled to Ireland three times now and had never seen such a complicated system. Although the hotel website says that Ennis is "just a pleasant 10 minute walk from the hotel," plan at least for a solid 15-20 min walk through a rotary and some interesting neighborhoods. If you can find a car park in town and you have a rental, you would probably be better served driving in from the hotel. Ennis itself doesn't offer much, with one exception. Make sure to visit the Ennis Friary before moving on the next day to the Cliffs of Moher, the Burren, etc. Breakfast at the hotel looked a little over-priced, so we stocked up at a local convenience store before leaving the next day. Capping off our stay, the fire alarm went off at 4am. At checkout the attendant explained that steam from someone's shower had set off the alarm and that the system was perhaps a bit too sensitive. All in all, we would consider other options in and around Ennis before staying again at the Lynch West Hotel.
Horrible Hotel - Only the gym makes it bearable
This hotel is definitely stuck in a timewarp. I've stayed a few times for business reasons and it's just getting worse.
The staff are quite rude and always try to get you to stay in a stinking smoking room even when a non smoking is requested.
The showers are crap, there's mildew in the bathroom, the toilet seats are badly damaged.
The vegetarian meal on room service comes complete with chicken!!!!!! Yuck!
Breakfast is meant to start at 7.30 but usually doesn't until 7.55am. The bowls and plates are often filthy. The breakfast staff are quite unpleasant and extremely slow.
