More about Jurys Inn Limerick

Comfy stay. . .perfect location!

by TripAdvisor Member hyunibunny

Husband and I just returned from four nights at the Jurys Inn Limerick. Although our flight got in quite early and we failed to notify the hotel in advance, they were able to accommodate us fairly quickly. We arrived at 8:30 AM, checked our bags with the front desk, went out to find breakfast, and were able to check in when we returned (around 10ish). The room was clean and of a decent size with a lovely view of the Shannon river (inhabited by swans) and a so-so view of the roundabout, but traffic noise was not a problem (perhaps because we were on the 6th floor). We found the room to be a bit cold at night, but a call to the front desk fixed the problem right away. Staff was quite friendly and helpful.

Biggest draw for us was the location-within walking distance of everything. Bus/train station (from whence you can catch bus/train to just about everywhere) is a few blocks up (5 minute walk), grocery/convenience store is right across the street, Limerick City tourist attractions are all within reasonable walking distance (I'm 6 months pregnant and I had no problems getting around), and places to eat in every direction.

The only problem we encountered was the noise from other guests. Apparently, it is quite normal where they come from to bang on each others' doors and shout through the doors, or to have loud, drunken conversations in the hall during the middle of the night.

Good Hotel, Good Location

Jurys in Limerick is a nice hotel. I've stayed here a couple of times now when I come to Limerick. Firstly, the rates are very good, usually best on Jurys own site. Secondly, the hotel is centrally located. A problem with Limerick is the lack of hotels in the city centre in the last couple of years but this is as good as you are going to get.

The rooms were clean and quite big. The reception staff were efficient and polite.

I can't really fault this hotel. If you can't sleep, there are plenty of pubs and clubs in the city so go and have a few beers. All in all, a positive experience.

Ok hotel, comfortable stay

We stayed at this hotel while visiting friends in Limerick. We got a huge room - much bigger than expected of most hotel chains. The location is excellent - we considered another hotel in Limerick which was a bit cheaper but nothing can beat this central location. We got free parking and there's lots of bars and restaurants within easy walking distance. Staff were fine too.

No problems really - but this is not luxury so don't expect anything special!

Not a bad Hotel, but a lot of Road Noise

by TripAdvisor Member Pildor

First of all the good points of this hotel. It is centrally located with pubs and restaurants within walking distance. The rates are very good and the staff is very friendly. I would highly suggest Dolan’s Pub right down the street, they have amazing food! Now for the bad part I was given a room facing the roundabout that had constant road noise entering my room on it all night long! It became even noisier in the morning when more people where traveling on the road. Luckily I packed some ear plugs. They did help a little but I had to use one of the pillows too to block out the road noise that was coming from outside. I would suggest this hotel for budget minded people but make sure to check where your room is first before unpacking. If you are willing to pay more money I would suggest the Clarion Hotel up the road as an alternative.

Decent Enough for the price

This was my third stay at this location. I had no problem with noise at all. The staff was very good at getting me in to a quiet room at the back of the hotel after I emailed them in advance to ask for an early arrival.

Food in the pub was good, the room was basic and overall clean, although a bit dusty.

A decent location for seeing the sites of Limerick and doing a bit of shopping.

Lovely Limerick

by A TripAdvisor Member

I've just spent three nights at the Jury's Inn in Limerick. I would highly recommend it. The hotel is a couple of minutes walk from the city centre and is perfect for travellers on a budget. I was very impressed with the standard of this hotel. It was spotlessly clean, our double room was quite large (and it actually had a double bed and not 2 singles stuck together!). The bathroom was a good size as well and had both a bath and a shower (bonus!). The room was serviced everyday. We were there on a room-only basis so didn't sample the breakfast. We had a lovely view of the River Shannon, the only drawback of this was that we could hear all of the traffic passing under our 3rd floor window. It wasn't a problem for me but if you're a light-sleeper it'd be better to be on the other side of the hotel.
As for Limerick itself, I was surprised at how small the centre is. You could never get lost! There are plenty of shops for some essential retail therapy and museums, art gallery and a castle for the culture vultures!
The best part of my short time in Limerick was definitely the food. We did not have a single bad or even average meal-they were all yummy.
We ate in the Texas Steakout (twice, it was so good), the Jasmine Palace and The Brazen Head (all on O'Connell Street.) We went to check out the Poppadom and the Copper and Spice Indian restaurants but we didn't actually go in as there was no chicken korma on the menu (it's my favourite!)
There were lots of other lovely looking restaurants as well, so eat out and explore!
One thing which disappointed me a little was the lack of Irish hospitality. Most of the people we came across weren't actually Irish at all and the majority of people weren't friendly. This is just a passing comment, maybe I'm expecting too much of a 'stereotypical' Irish welcome and 'craic'. It certainly didn't stop me from enjoying myself!
Limerick was lovely for a mini-break and I'd definitely recommend a stroll along the banks of the Shannon.
I'd stay at Jury's again.
