by orlikins
Cork accent is mad. Basically we dont understand what dem Carkmen do be sayin' at all, so like, you're screwed. :) Check Cork Slang for more, boy!
But if someone says "Well now, boy, you're some langer" - thats not good, and you should really run far away as fast as possible!!
A street singer
by benazer
Sometimes if you are lucky you may find a street singer with a wonderful voice singing a song he wrote himself,I was lucky enough to find this singer singing in the pouring rain a song called "pouring rain" he sang beautifully ,I gave him all the change i had.
Most of what Ireland has to...
by Michael_D
Most of what Ireland has to offer is 'off the beaten path.' That is Irelands charm. But with the new Irish economy the CELTIC TIGER as its called is changing the entire fabric of the country. High tech jobs are somewhat abundant and americans are actually moving back to the 'auld sod' in record numbers. Its looking to be an incredible future for the Emerald Isle.
Anywhere on Washington Street...
by Waoife about So many pubs to choose from :)
Any pub on Washington Street is normally a good bet - during term time (October to May) it tends to be dominated by students from the university close by so for the more 'mature' you may want to try Oliver Plunket Street instead.
City Limits on Coborg Street (on the North Side - go over Patricks bridge & take a left at the bottom of the hill) has comedy at the weekends before the nightclub (one admission price gets you in to both, you need to be there around 9.00) & normally the comedians are of a high standard. Smart casual - depends on the place (and the mood of the bouncer!) whether or not you'll get let in with jeans but normally so long as you've a smart top & footwear they're fine.
