The White House B&B: Our 3rd night, near Blarney Castle

by danmcf

This was the other B&B we stayed at that was recommended by Michelle & Terry Flynn tours, it also was well rated at Tripadvisor.com.
As with all our other B&B rooms so far, we've been given a nice size family room with a double bed for the wife & I, while our daughter gets a single bed.

This is the 1st B&B where coffee isn't brought to the breakfast table, but all other breakfast items are the same:
2 eggs 'sunny side up'; sausuge & bacon (I opt for 1 link/slice each instead of the usual 2); 'black & white pudding'; mushrooms; tomato (I give this to the wife); various breads, and sometimes fruits as well.

Nice view of the Blarney Castle from the B&B front steps. We were able to walk to the Blarney Woolen Mills (which has become a chain of tourist gift shops that sells just about everything to do with Ireland) to do most all our vacation shopping.
Probably the best 'unique quality' of staying here (or anywhere in Blarney for that matter) is the fact that you can beat the tour buses to kissing the Blarney Stone, thus avoiding the lines & the spit of all those who proceeded you.

All in all though, this B&B has once again raised the bar on what we'll expect from an Irish B&B.

Ramada Hotel and Spa, Blarney Co Cork: Really good hotel

by PaulMcGann

Overnight business stay. Rooms are great-particularly for corporate bookings. Facilities are really good; restaurant, bar spa etc not to mention on site golf course. Price at €95 was about reasonable. Breakfast was great and service was spot on.
No bar food or snack availability is a drawback. No shampoo and soap in the men's dressing rooms at the spa, we were told was an oversight. Overall hotel is recommended and as it's open only about 6 months it's fair to overlook initial small inconveniences.

Jury's Inn Cork: Good all round hotel.

by AtomicPuppy68

We stayed 4 nights. The room was a twin, but had one double and one single bed. Big Tv, tea/coffee making facilities. Not enough wardrobe space perhaps. Nice shower. No complaints. Would be happy to stay there again. Bar and restaurant downstairs. Bar open until 1am.

Good position in the city. 3 minutes walk from Oliver Plunkett Street.

Aaran House Tourist Hostel: Funky Little Place

by Jennyjump79

I spent three nights here. Not glam, but cozy. The hostel is a converted old multi-story house, with single stall bathrooms and showers on each floor. More like a home than the usual dormitory-style hostels I've stayed in. At least half of the tenants seemed like long-term residents. A few seemed a little dodgy, but if they weren't overly friendly, at least they were polite and easygoing. The hostess, named Tracy, was very friendly, and the kitchen and bathrooms were kept very clean.

Besides being a good deal, it was also right across from the train station and very close to both the nightlife area in the North of the city and the city center.

Cork International Hostel (part of An Oige): Beautiful red brick hostel across from University

by rugbyspark

This beautiful red brick hostel is across Redclyffe from the University of Cork. Nearby are several Bed & Breakfasts as well, and you can take the #8 from the bus station to or from the hostel (it leaves St. Patrick's Street near the main Eireann bus depot). It is about 30 minute walk from the downtown core, but if you want peace and quiet, it is worth the extra travel time. The kitchen facilites are quite good and there is a big dining room/television room. They also have internet access. 15 euros a night for a shared 6 bed dorm room with a beautiful view of the front lawn. Definitely worth it!

really close the the University and the River Lee

Aaran Isle Inn: A nice B&B

by sabsi

It was 19 IEP per person sharing

Nice rooms and breakfast. Not a family atmosphere though, the place felt more like a hotel than like a B&B!
