All of the hotels in Kinsale are older hotels. We have stayed at the Trident 3 times now, including our last trip in April 2004. The are in the process of refurbishing and adding on to their hotel right now, so things are a bit out of place, but it looks pretty promising! They had added onto the dining room before our last stay and it is a very nice addition! The views from their 4 end rooms are absoultely stunning! Espessially the two on the backside because you get 2 walls of windows that are awesom views of the harbor and James Fort. From all of the rooms on the front of their hotel you can see the water, and some of the ones on the backside of the L shape you can see the water. All rooms have insuite bathrooms. You have to fight with the shower curtain a bit, as it likes to blow against you since it doesn't have any weight to it or magnets lined in the bottom. The towel rack is heated for your towels, which is very nice! The water pressure in the shower is wonderful! The rooms are nice size with chairs to sit in for comfort. It is wonderful to sit and drink a cup of tea and look at the views! Invites you right outside on the prettiest of days! Each room has it's own electric tea kettle and the items for fixing tea in your room. Our only real drawback are the beds. The mattresses are really old and you can tell, the dip. Hopefully this will be fixed with the refurbishment. The dining room serves a nice breakfast in the morning as well as a wonderful dinner at night. You can lunch in the bar on the first floor. It is on the end part of town, but still convienent enough to walk where you want to. If not for it's location you wouldn't have those fabulous views! So well worth it!
Fitness facilities, restaurant on premises as well as a pub/bar. Walking distance to The Forts and Kinsale town center area. Stunning Views!
