Macroom was definately not on our plans, we were en-route to Killarney where we were going to stay for the next two days. As we entered Macroom, we decided that it might be a better option than going through to Killarney for finding accommodation. Macroom is a very interesting little village, with some nice restaurants & hotels. We opted to stay in the youth hostel which was extremely reasonable, the room was spacious and clean.
Macroom is very centrally located for doing the Ring of Kerry, visiting Blarney Castle etc.
