Roseville B&B: Youghal Olde Town at Its Best

What a delightful experience! I did feel rather odd driving up in a car, as it felt as if I should have been approaching in a carraige instead!

It is literally just down the street from Tynte Castle. A Georgian style Manor house, it has been well restored to be both modern and yet frozen in time.

The Foleys greeted us with hot tea and delicious biscuits. They shared tips for dinner and commisserated with my allergy to any type of seafood. They made sure that we were comfortable in our rooms and then simply disappeared, yet were always at hand when ever we had a need or a question to be answered.

The rooms were very tastefully decorated, the mattresses comfortable, the linens crisp and the windows could be opened more than just a otch, allowing the sea breeze to coax me into sleep later that night. Overall, the interior decorations were just the right mix of antiques and functional furniture. It felt neither pretentious or sterile. It was like visiting the home of an elder aunt.
