Dooey Hostel, Glencolumbkille: Hostel in Glencolumbkille, Co. Donegal

It is a great place to stay during one of the many festivals in Glencolumbkille and you will be greated with a warm welcome and a cup of tea by the owners.
The hostel is high on a hill, it is a steep climb. Car parking facilities are available, so you can leave the car there and walk into the village, to attend a music session in one of the three pubs in the village.

Unique Quality: Every room - bunk beds sleeping 4 to 6 people - has its own 'kitchenette'
there is a communal room with a nice view and kitchen facilities
internet access is available

Part of the hostel is underground and built into the hill (I believe that it was a 2nd world war bunker)

It is not a modern building, it is old with a lot of charm! and the owner and his mother will make your stay memorable!

Camping facilities are also available - in the garden under chestnut trees (camping is cheaper than staying in the hostel i.e. €7.50 pps and you can also use the communal kitchen) The hostel is €14.00 per person

Drumbaron Hostel, Ardara: Hostel in Ardara, Co. Donegal

I would recommend this hostel, because it is in the middle of the town. You can walk back from the pub after the music session.

The rooms have bunk beds and sleep about 4 to 6 people. There is one double room available. Toilets and showers are in the corridor.

There is access to a kitchen where tea/coffee and toast & cereals are available for breakfast.

I stayed here because all the B&B's were booked out which can easily happen at a festival and I was happy enough. Rooms were a bit crammed with 6 people in it, but overall the hostel, bathrooms and were clean.

Unique Quality: none - apart from the fact that is very centrally located and ideal for a night out at a pub / music session.

Rosearl: Don't Expect a Smiling Reception

This was an energy refueling stay. Ridiculously long nap. The B&B was decent except for the owner's boys making a ton of noise late at night.
