Top of the Morning to you
This hotel is opposite the River Liffey and if you are lucky to get a room that overlooks the River, the view is amazing. I was lucky enough to have such a room so ventured out onto the balcony to take it all in - though I did have an early morning flight into Dublin airport and did have to leave with bags whilst our rooms were made up (cant complain as I got to do a little sightseeing, a little shopping and lot of Guiness tasting).
The hotel offers complimentary access to the hotel’s health club, where a 15-person sauna, steam room, and spa tub are located next to a 31-meter (68-foot) lap pool. Its gym has free weights, 60 cardio machines, and 20 resistance machines. Aerobics and yoga classes are available (surcharge), and women’s and men’s changing rooms have lockers, showers, and hairdryers.
The hotel also has two restaurants; Sinergie and Kudos. I can recommend Kudos as the food was lovely - I had the duck and the yaki soba was also lovely.

Smart hotel away from noisy centre
We were transferred to this hotel at the last minute following a cock-up by the travel agent, but were definitely NOT disappointed. It's about 10 minutes walk from the bus station and Connolly Railway Station, and 15 mins from town, but no great hardship, and, in the lovely weather we enjoyed (in mid-December!) it was delightful to walk along the river. The hotel is fairly obviously aimed at the business customers who frequent the local financial area, but was perfectly acceptable for a long weekend. The service was very good indeed (including a personal visit to our room by the general manager to check everything was ok) and the hotel was well maintained and beautifully decorated. I definitely agree with other VT's that the breakfast is very expensive (20 Euro each) and much better, cheaper fare can be found outide the hotel. It is also very expensive for the leisure traveller, but there are lots of good weekend deals available at this hotel on the internet.
Unique Quality: Ask for a room at the front of the hotel for a cracking view over the River Liffey to the foothills of the Wicklow Mountains. Pool and gym facilities are also excellent with a TV next to every piece of gym equipment to stop you getting bored! Our bedroom was a king/twin on the fourth floor, and was very nicely furnished and decorated. The bed is very comfortable with excellent quality bedlinen.

Nice Business Hotel
Hotel Clarion is located on the North Bank, in the Irish Financial Center. So as you guess this is a business hotel. But the advantage is that during the summer or the week ends you can get very good rates offer and indulge yourself a 4*.
The hotel is recent and modern. Rooms are spacious and clean. Nice bathroom too. The whole was very confortable and I don't have any complaint. Only the tv didn't work, but I was too lazy to ask them to fix it up.
The staff at the reception is very helpful and polite. There is also a restaurant and a bar, that I didn't try.
The only bemol I would put is the location. Because if I come back to Dublin now, I would probably book an hotel on the South Bank, because that's where everything takes place. But still, we could join the major spots of attraction on a 15/20 mn walk. I didn't take a bus in 3 days ! And the location was very quiet, whereas some people in others hotels couldn't sleep at night because of the noise.
Unique Quality: The Health Center in the basement with : heated swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna, gym... really great and free for the clients of the hotel.

We stayed here for one night on our way back from Greece and it was absolutely amazing. One night was not enough. We had booked well in advance and their happened to be a football match on that weekend and the hotel was booked out so we got upgraded to a suite. The room was really spacious with great views out over the Liffey. Overall the hotel was really modern and clean. We went to Milanos restaurant across from the hotel for dinner and had the best pizza's I've ever had and the wine was also very good. The hotel had a very good inroom menu too. We didn't get to the pool or gym because of the short stay but we had already decided we'd be going back before we left. The hotel is definately of the business type and there is no crazy atmosphere but if you like a quiet break with the option of waking a few minutes to the city centre then this is for you. Their are really good restaurants both in the hotel and around it. The walk into the centre though 10-15mins is a really nice walk along the river and from living in Dublin fro a number of years I would recommend staying in this area as opposed to the hectic centre. It is also only a short walk from the Point Theatre if your going to see a show. Overall I would highly reccommend this hotel, the staff were so professional. The Clarion hotels are a class in themselves very different to the traditional 4 and 5 star hotels that are more common. I would also reccommend the Clarion in Limerick if travelling around Ireland.
Okay for business

Not a bad hotel if you need the convenience of the location to the IFSC, but other than that this is a noisy location and a functional hotel but there are many other better hotels in dublin for this price. Only stay here is you need to - not out of choice. Restaurant is nothing special. Facilities are good and cater for the guest. Location is ok for work but not much around for play.
Great modern hotel

We stayed in Dublin for new year with friends, and chose The Clarion as a result of being told that it was just out of the main city centre and would offer us a modern, stylish, clean base for our trip together with a quiet location - we weren't disappointed! Despite a 15 minute stroll into the city centre each day (and night) - which we really enjoyed, being walking types - we didn't feel too far away from the buzz of Dublin at New Year, and were grateful for a bit of peace and quiet away from the traffic and crowds at the end of each day.We used the Luas (the new tram system in Dublin) on occasions which was really efficient and cheap. The last tram stop is about a 5 min walk from the hotel.
The hotel itself is in a really pleasant spot in the financial district (lots of very modern, highrise buildings surrounding it) - it's very light and airy; the rooms were extremely comfortable, with modern furnishings and great facilities; comfy king size beds with duvets (always a plus in my book!)and well equipped bathrooms and dressing areas. We also had a balcony from which we could see boats on the river Liffey - a lovely touch. We did upgrade to Executive rooms which are slightly larger than standard rooms - this didn't cost much and was well worth the extra.
Breakfast was really over priced in my opinion and although very nice wasn't anything special. We ate in the Kudos bar one evening and enjoyed a fantastic meal - food served here has an Asian influence -delicious bowls of noodles and tasty rice dishes. The cost of an evening meal in the hotel was moderate and pretty good value we thought.
We used the pool and jacuzzi once during our stay - very clean and a pleasant addition to the hotel's facilities.
All in all, a great stay - highly recommended to couples.
