Dublin Conrad

Beautiful hotel, great service. Nice linens and a big, puffy comforter. Great bathroom. Along with a TV, on which we watched way too much Cricket, trying to figure out the rules, our room included a nice compact stereo with a CD player. The biggest challenge was figuring out how to operate the lights. There were several switches on the wall, and they seemed to require a specific combination of some in the up position and other in the down position to activate various lights. We never did completely figure it out (and I am good at figuring out things like that!), so it was an experiment every time we wanted lights on or off.

There's a pub in the hotel, and a gym, which I didn't visit : )

We redeemed Hilton points to stay there, but I believe the rooms are about $190(USD) per night.

Unique Quality: Outstanding hospitality! The staff is amazing and helpful. The picture shows us with David, the porter, who found us tickets to U2!

Conrad International - Dublin

Well, I'm finding nothing better than US$231 for these rooms, and even as high as US$711 and EUR$1400. Ugh, that's expensive. Look for a special or a deal. That's your best bet here.. otherwise it'll be very expensive.

Unique Quality: This is a 5-star hotel, definitely. Bellhops and concierges, etc. Beautiful lobby and huge rooms, which is definitely saying a lot in Europe, where rooms tended to be small! Anyway, just a very nice, luxurious hotel. Huge rooms, turn-down service, chocolate on pillow, large bathrooms, wet bar, several phones, big TV... Highly reccommend it if you can get a good deal!

By the way, picture here is described as 'An Irish Welcome'

2 nights in Dublin

We only paid for the 'roll-away' bed (40 euros per night), having used HiltonHHonors points. I was told that since I was a Gold member our room was upgraded. I had hoped this upgrade was a suite, but alas it was not to be.
If what we got was an upgrade, I couldn't imagine fitting the 'roll-away' bed into a standard room. But our kingsized bed was grand, and we got turn down service each night.

Nice sized exercise room that we used on Sunday morning, but didn't use any of their other amenities or services (a bit out of our budget anyway).

Unique Quality: This is a 5 star hotel that is rated #1 on Tripadvisor.com for Dublin hotels. It is an outstanding hotel that seemed to be very efficient. The concierge was very helpful when we arrived by car (needing to get it to the car rental depot soon thereafter), and also on our departure although he did misjudge the cost of our taxi ride to the airport.

All in all though, a rather 'corporate looking' place that has a 'cold & sterile' feel to it.

Probably the best in Dublin

I was surprised when I have seen the hotel from the outside, as it does not look like a Conrad (Hilton's lixury line). But it's the service that makes it a Conrad and the accomodation/room was very good. Food was also very good, both for breakfast as well as in the restaurant (evening).

The location is also perfect - only minutes away from the shopping area, as well as from the next bus stop of the Dublin's major hop-on hop-off tours.

Unique Quality: Excellent breakfast, large fitness studio, very well equipped

More about Conrad Dublin

Great Business Hotel

by TripAdvisor Member janices7

If you are a business person, then this hotel would be perfect for you. As a tourist, I would say it was just fine. The staff at the Conrad Dublin were extremely snobby and the lobby is always filled with folks in business attire so we just felt a bit out of place.

The first hurdle is actually being able to find this hotel. We circled the one way around St. Stephen's Green at least 4 times and could see the hotel off to the right just 100 yards or so, but there was no right turn or way to get there. We finally asked some nice unsuspecting Dubliner who basically said that it would be easier to get in our car and take us there than to try and give us directions through the maze of one ways required to get to the hotel. Thank God he got in the car because 10 turns and probably a mile later, we finally got to the hotel that was literally 100 yards away when we started. So good luck to those of you crazy enough to try driving in Dublin - it was an absolute nightmare.

At any rate, back to the hotel review.... The room was large, comfy and quiet. They had high speed internet access which was great. Breakfast was a buffet with lots of choices to suit many tastes. We parked our car for the duration of our 3 day stay and the hotel was within walking distance of many of the sites, Grafton Street (great food & shopping), St. Stephen's Green and the double-decker tour bus stop.

good location

by TripAdvisor Member LouBLou27

The Conrad was a very nice hotel, can't complain about anything, the rooms were well appointed with comfy beds and high quality TV/CD appiances and very good toiletries. The hotel lobby is light and the bar area is appealing. The breakfast was OK, nothing special. The staff were pleasant and always helpful and the hotel was clean.

Would I stay here again? Probably not - it was a bit lacking in atmosphere and I have stayed in excellent 4* and 3* hotels near St Stephen's Green which were just as good and much cheaper.

Top Notch Hotel

by TripAdvisor Member rudetechnicals

My partner and I stayed in the Conrad for a short break over New Year 2005. We selected it after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor and we weren’t disappointed. The location is good (about 10 mins walk from Dawson St). Staff are very friendly, attentive and discreet. The room (a standard) was a good size and was tastefully decorated in a modern style, with good quality linens, a smart bathroom and a nice big comfy bed. We didn’t use the restaurant but ate breakfast in the room which was excellent and always on time. I would recommend the Cosmopolitans in the Bar. Top Notch.

Excellent Breakfasts

by TripAdvisor Member charlie911

We stayed here for the first 4 days in January to beat the New Year blues ! Check in was efficient and friendly. The room was superb i.e. clean, modern, well equipped with cd player, and all the usual 5 star bits and pieces.
We had breakfast delivered to our room and it was just fantastic. No need to eat again until late afternoon.
One down side is the lack of atmosphere in the lobby bar and the service there was poor too. However when you are in the centre of Dublin there really is no need to drink in the hotel. So the lobby bar would not deter us from staying again. A really relaxing 5 star break.
