WHAT IS THE BUS SERVICE FROM AIRORT TO HARCOURT HOTEL HARCOURT STREET

Re: travel from dublin airport

by tango_jd

We used the Aircoach service which takes you very near the Harcourt Hotel. I think it stopped in Lower Leeson Street so take a map - it's a 5-minute walk.
I think it was about 7 euros each-way.
We bought a return - however, when we were waiting at the bus stop to come-home, a series of taxis stopped and offered to take us back for the same price as the coach. We didn't use these though because we had a return ticket already.

The World Travel Guide says: Bus: Frequent local bus services, operated by Dublin Bus (tel: (01) 873 4222; www.dublinbus.ie), leave from the main Arrivals road directly outside the terminal. These include the Airlink express bus, which runs to Dublin’s main bus and rail stations. Bus 747 runs to the O’Connell Street, the central bus station and Parnell Square West. Bus 748 runs to Heuston and Connolly rail stations and the central bus station.
Coach: Coach services operate from the airport’s coach park on the far side of the main car park building to many destinations in Ireland. These include the 24-hour Aircoach service (tel: (01) 844 7118; www.aircoach.ie) to south Dublin (including most major hotels in the city), and cities around Ireland.

Travel Tips for Dublin

Georgian Doors

by acemj

Throughout the city, you'll find Georgian doors like this one. The area around Merrion Square (west of Trinity College) is particulary good for viewing these beautiful doors. Famous Dubliners to live here include Oscar Wilde and W.B. Yeats.

Get into a bar and have some Guiness/'craik'. Although it hasn't happened yet my fondest memory of Dublin will undoubtedly be Scotland thumping Ireland at Lansdowne Rd in the Six Nations Championships!!
Untill then it will be walking through temple bar with my girlfriend absorbing the atmosphere, our bellies full of the black stuff

Halfpenny Bridge, one of the oldest bridges in Dublin spanning the River Liffy. However due to the narrow width of the bridge do not attempt to cross it with a large suitcase unless you really wish to hear various words for idiot in Irish!!!!!!!

Dublin Tip

by Krystynn

Strolling along the River Liffey here in December can be quite an experience too. Fortunately for me, the weather this particular December (2001) is considered mild. In fact, the Dubliners call it their 'warmest' December. :-)

Can you spot the Clarence Hotel owned by the world famous Irish band - U2? No? Squint harder!
