This was the first hotel I've ever stayed in during my life so far. If all hotels are like this, then I will be quite happy.
The rooms were spacious, warm and the cot I was provided with was a new large blue Graco one. My father said it looked more like a 'baby prison', but what does he know ?
Unique Quality: The lobby area is unusually convivial for a hotel of this type. The pub off to the side and the bar at the rear means that you can bring your drinks across and have some good craic. This also means (being a hotel lobby) that I can stay around after 9pm, the normal kicking out time for children.
My parents were also impressed with the extensive carvery that served a good three course meal with coffee for under 25 euro.

Good value for money but need to tighten up the place

We stayed at the Clarion as we had an early flight from Dublin airport. The hotel is very well located just inside the airport perimeter. There are doing up the reception area so this was closed off and the entrance was through the restaurant. Annoyingly, the gate at the entrance on the way in to the airport was broken so we had to go through the entrance on the arrival road. The hotel is very nicely appointed although the bedroom furniture is a bit dated. Both bathroom and bedroom was spotless and large. This was a family room but the 2nd double bed was a sofa bed made up. Annoyingly as we checked in late, the mini bar was empty but the room service was tasty (chips were cold though!). The shuttle bus is very quick (less than 5 minutes). Good hotel, especially if you can get a good rate (€89 for a family room.... shame they charged me in GBP though!)
Very Disappointing

Booked the hotel via their website and specifically requested a non-smoking room. I arrived late (due to a delayed flight) and was told there were no non-smoking rooms left. They "upgraded me" to a family room with the suggestion that parents do not smoke in front of children.
The room absolutely reeked of cigarettes, it was awful. Also it was extremely noisy, I could easily hear every take off and landing - it did wake me up.
Also through the night one of the hotel staff walked into the room next to mine (to the surprise of its occupants) which resulted in an argument and further loss of sleep.
Checkout was very slow (they do not have anywhere near enough staff). I missed the shuttle to the airport (checkout took longer then 15 mins), but was told there would be another one straight away. It turned out that straight away was 30 mins.
All in all it was a bad experience. I cannot recommend this hotel at all.
Only if you must

Hotel's main attraction is that it's minutes from the Dublin airport and offers 24-hour friendly van service to the airport. Decor is extremely contemporary and newly redecorated.
However, the hotel is odd in several ways. It's on several levels, but has no elevator service, only a lift for suitcases. Guests are not permitted to use the lift. Rooms are tiny, but that's to be expected at airport hotels. The hotel provides no wake-up calls -- really odd for an airport hotel-- just tv's that have built-in alarm clocks. Not being sure if the tv clock worked, I had several sleepless hours because we had an early morning flight. The tv did in fact come on at the set time. The hotel had no tv checkout, making us concerned that a line at the checkout desk might slow us up from getting to the airport. At check-in, The front desk folks seemed pre-occupied and looking downward when we arrived. I had to ask to be checked-in. Fortunately, we were able to check out quickly at the front desk.
Stay here only if you have an early morning flight. Bring your own alarm clock.
A mixed bag

Stayed here last month and was pleasently surprised by the refurbished lobby and restuarant area having stayed previously some years ago. It is very modern and clean but does lead you into a false sense of security. Once you leave the lobby it is old dirty and worn!
We booked an executive room and requested a travel cot so reception were aware we had a baby but failed to mention the fact there was no lift, not fun with a one year old and luggage.
The bedroom was clean but old but I wasn't too keen on the carpets v grubby looking. The bathroom needed a total refurb some dirty spots and I wasn't happy with the grubby looking travel cot with dirt marks they supplied for our baby.
Food also mixed, the dinner was really good and so was breakfast but the room service was horrible, food was cold, tasteless and of poor quality.
The corridors were constantly lined with trays from room service not very pleasent.
It could be a very nice hotel if they decorated the bedrooms to the same standard as the lobby and the restaurant and made some other changes and got rid of the smelly carpets in the corridors!
Does the job

Good price, good location, all told a good deal.
Free wireless in the lobby, but it reached my room (238 on the same floor as the lobby) albeit a big more weakly. The place was clean and reasonable -- if you looked you could find signs of an old hotel underneath, but it wasn't a problem at all. The shuttle is three minutes from the terminal -- although it only runs every 1/2 hour.
