Reasonably priced and near everything!

We loved this hotel! The staff made our stay very enjoyable and was very interested in ensuring that our stay was comfortable. I would highly recommend the Jurys Custom House Inn to anyone traveling to Dublin, Ireland. I think the hotel is very reasonably priced for all that you get and for its very central location.

GETTING THERE:
When you get off the plane, ask for directions to the bus counter. Ask them how to get to your destination. The bus is the best and cheapest way to get from the airport to the city center (20 minutes). We did it with lots of luggage with no problem. Consider buying a bus pass for your stay - a great way to get around.

LOCATION:
It was very close to main bus station (Busaras), the Dart (Dublin Area Rapid Transit local-area train), and Connolly Station (one of the two major train stations connecting Dublin with the rest of Ireland). It is within walking distance (5-10 minutes) of Grafton Street (the major pedestrian shopping street), St. Stephen's Green (the huge park), Temple Bar (restaurant and bar quarter), Trinity College (and the ancient Book of Kells museum), Dublin Castle, and Connollly Street (another major street).

Unique Quality: HOTEL:
It is a nice modern hotel. The lobby has a few places to sit and they frequently served complimentary tea in the lobby. There is a bar and shop near the lobby.

RESTAURANT:
The full Irish breakfast was our favorite thing! The buffet served both hot and cold food. The food was delicious. They also serve a cold buffet only for a reduced price.

ROOMS:
Were comfortable but a little outdated. We had a queen bed and a roll-away bed that converted to a sofa. The room included a coffee/tea center, TV, telephone, and a window that opened. The bathroom was clean and modern with a shower/bathtub combined.

Our room was on the side of the River Liffy. There was definitely traffic noise (especially in the morning). Perhaps it is a good idea to request a room on the other side of the hotel (not facing the River Liffy).

By the Liffey

As the name indicates, it's located along the river Liffey and near the Custom House. A short walk from the Bus center.

It's the typical chain hotel, but since I just needed to go back there to sleep at night, all I cared about was a clean room with a comfortable bed, which they had.

Lots of construction going on in the area, but once you are inside the building, you don't hear any noises.

Unique Quality: They have web only specials all the time. Check their site, and compare the price with what discount booking sites are offering.

Jurys Inn Custom House ***

The Jurys Inn hotels are the 'budget' version of the Jurys Doyle hotels.
With the same friendly service and welcome as its five star-brother, the three star Inns are perfect if you like quality accommodation at a reasonable price.

The ensuite hotel rooms are spotlessly clean, have coffee/tea-making facilities, tv and a hair dryer.

Beside single and double rooms, there are also family rooms that suit 3 or 4 guests.

Breakfast is not included in the price.
However, the restaurant of the hotel does breakfasts, lunches and very good (and not too expensive) dinners.

Every Jurys Inn also has a pub/café.

Tip:
Go to www.jurysdoylehotels.com and make your reservation online. It saves you time at the reception desk, and Jurys Inn has great internet deals.

Unique Quality: The Jurys Inn Custom House is located on Custom House Quay, and if you ask for a room with Liffey view, you will look out over the river Liffey and the South side of Dublin.

The hotel is only a 5-10 minute walk from Busáras, Dublin's bus station.
A 10-minute walk along the Liffey will take you to the city centre.

Rely on the Jury for a good verdict

The Irish Hotel Chain Jury's own a number of hotels in Dublin that are three, four, or Five star.

The more upmarket ones tend not to have the word "Jury's" in their name.

Some of them may be architecturally pretty awful on the outside, but they all seem (and I've been in most of them) well fitted out and well-run.

The Custom Inn Hotel in particular is a modern building in an excellent location.

The website is well worth looking at. It often contains some very good special offers.

To stay in Dublin I would...

To stay in Dublin I would recommend Jury's Inn.Here the prices are cheap and are per room basis not per person. There are 2 Jury's Inn in Dublin and both are centrally located,Christchurch and Custom House.
I think Christchurch is more central. But the Custom House is great if you are going to The Point for a concert, this concert arena is just minutes walk away along the quay.
£70 per room for 3 people.

Unique Quality: It is safe and very clean.

More about Jurys Custom House Inn

Perfect location for Dublin Port

by A TripAdvisor Member

The Jurys Inn Custom House was in the perfect location for us because we came from North Wales on Irish Ferries. It only a short cab ride away from Dublin Port and was close to the Thrifty Car Rental where we rented a car. It was a brief walk to the Hop On Hop Off bus tour – which we loved – and across the street from the river. It was a typical hotel with a restaurant in the lobby. The dinner we had in the restaurant was tasty and reasonably priced, the rooms were clean and the staff was nice and helpful.

Wouldn't go back

I have to agree with many of the reviews We stayed for one night in May. When we checked in we had a staff member who must have been a trainee - she did not know what she was doing, although she was pleasant enough. Took about 20 minutes to check in for two rooms. We, too, had requested non-smoking rooms, but were put on to a smoking floor. We decided not to change, since the rooms themselves did not smell of smoke (although the corridor did). Both when we checked in and when we checked out we were told that our credit card was not valid - we had no problems with this credit card in the four days preceding our Dublin visit or the eight days following, so I don't know what they were doing. Fortunately, we had another card with us. Truck traffic was very loud beginning early in the morning, although I'm not sure that road traffic wouldn's also be a problem at any centrally-located Dublin hotel.

Really nice!

This was our last spot on a 7 day trip to Ireland and actually had The Towers booked until we realized how far it was from Croke Park. We had tickets to see U2 in Dublin and wanted to be able to walk from our hotel to the concert and back. Theresa (works for the company that owns both hotels) easily switched the hotel for us. Then we went online to Trip Advisor to read the reviews and were a bit nervous. However, we were very surprised! Check-in went beautifully, the room was non-smoking as requested, it was huge with a sitting area, clean, and quiet. The staff was accomodating (we wanted a fan and received it in 10 minutes), pleasant, and helpful. Security was present at all times and the hotel is in the center of the city within walking distance to everything! We have 3 children we would bring back without hesitation to this hotel. By the way, U2 in Dublin was phenomenal!!

Location could be a bit better.

My Mom and I stayed here for 2 nights. Checking in was a little slow because they ran out of key cards. One of the managers took us to our room and let us in with his card. We received our key cards about an hour later. Our room was clean and spacious. I only wish that we would have been a little closer to the center of town. It was about a 5 block walk to Oconnell Street. I saw several Jurys right in the city center that I would have preferred.

great hotel in an unloved location

by A TripAdvisor Member

We found the hotel to be excellent and very family-friendly. When the check-in staff saw we had two children (3 months and 2 years), they put us in a very large room, set up 2 cots in minutes and offered bottle sterilising equipment if needed. Checkin took only a few minutes despite the hotel being very busy.
The room was quite basic but certainly adequate and not pricey. Another Dublin hotel had said they had a Eur 30 surcharge per child per night even though the children did not require feeding and we said we could bring travel cots. Bar/restaurant staff were pleasant and efficient.
In criticism, the traffic outside was crazy, but that's gonna happen in cities.

I wrote a Virtual Tourist Review of the Jury's Custom House Inn which is within walking distance of O'Connell Street. You might read the review and consider staying there. We greatly enjoyed this hotel.

There is the Wynne Hotel and the Gresham on O Connell St and the Clarence in Temple Bar and also Fitzsimons in Temple Bar which is a two minute walk away

We have stayed in the Morrison a couple of times which is a few mins walk from O'Connell St, by the Millenium Bridge. The hotel and rooms are lovely but it is quite expensive unless you get a special offer. http://www.morrisonhotel.ie/

We have also stayed once at the Arlington, located on the corner of the O'Connell Bridge. A lot cheaper than the Morrison but reflected in the more worn furnishings and decor, but it was still an acceptable standard. http://www.arlington.ie/
