    Wonderful window views!

I stayed here while visiting my son who was at Trinity for a year of college, and they are very attentive when requests are made. I asked for a room with a nice view when booking, and they gave me a fairly large room on the 3rd floor with a huge picture window overlooking the Church across the street! The room had a king size bed and was extremely comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Dublin.

Unique Quality: Large picture windows of Christchurch

Directions: Across the street from the Church

    Great Location

This is a fabulous location, right across the street from Christchurch Cathedral so whereever you end up in Dublin, you can always find your way back!! Rooms are a good size and if there are a few of you going, you can get interconnecting rooms so you are right next to each other.

Very clean and the bar does a lovely club sandwich, also its open late so alway chance for a guinness nightcap. There is a shop next door and so Im told Dublins best chip shop around the corner!!!

Unique Quality: If your staying on a Saturday night, ask for a quiet room away from the cathedral. Ok it is a lovely view but the bells go off for about an hour to welcome sunday church goers, not very good after a heavy night on the Guinness!!

Directions: Right opposite Christchurch Cathedral, impossible to miss!

  • Great Location!!

Three of us shared a room here for three nights. The room was basic; two beds, dresser, desk, and bathroom with tub/shower. Our view was of Christchurch Cathedral. You really can't beat the location. Front desk staff were helpful; pointed out things to do and see, and where NOT to walk alone. The service at the bar was awful, but the food/nibbles weren't bad. We also like the price; 99 Euro/night!!

Unique Quality: You can't beat the location, in my opinion!!

The Tour Selected It and We Liked it

It was because our tour started from here that we spent the night. It was a great location, handy for getting into the "downtown" area, but a lovely place to walk about.
The room was big and comfortable. We certainly had no complaint with it.

Unique Quality: Lovely if you got a room with a view over the church, but I'm sure the other views would've been quite nice too.

    Jurys Christchurch Inn - City...

Jurys Christchurch Inn - City Centre South
Jurys Inns operate a fixed room rate policy of IR£71.00 per night for up to 3 adults sharing or in the case of families with children, 2 adults & 2 children (under 12 years). This rate does not include breakfast. In terms of location, Christchurch is impossible to beat. It is right in the centre close to Temple Bar and directly opposite Christchurch Cathedral.
They have a very very stricy policy against stag & hen parties and will strictly vet all 'same sex' groups to ensure that this policy is not being breached. If you are organising a stag / hen party - don't even think about trying it on as they will put you out!
In every respect, Jurys Christchurch cannot be beaten for value. For other hotels of similar quality & location, expect to pay over IR£100.00 per room per night. Unfortunately, Jurys Christchurch is very popular and it is very difficult to get availability. To get a room we suggest that you book well in advance, particularly if you are looking to come over at a weekend.

Great place for fun!!

by A TripAdvisor Member

This is by far the best place to stay while having fun in Temple Bar. It's a very reasonable five minute walk from a TON of sights and nighttime action, but far enough to encourage sound sleep on party nights when other hotels within Temple Bar are swallowed by music and noise until around 4am (especially Thurs, Fri, Sat). Rooms on the church side are either treated to or cursed by the cathedral bells right across the street, depending on your point of view.

If you're looking for a plush, graciously appointed room, stay at the Four Seasons on the other side of town. Don't expect pillowtop mattresses here. This is an affordable, clean, friendly and VERY convenient place to wind down your day or get ready for the night...we had fun watching all the ladies getting gussied up around 8:00pm on party nights.

Everyone in Dublin has a great attitude and Jurys Christchurch is no exception. We found knowledgeable desk staff that was good with directions and the few problems we had were corrected immediately with a genuinely glad heart. We did have one service issue with a wakeup call (there are no alarm clocks in the rooms) which was also dealt with in a very understanding way that turned the situation into a surprisingly positive one. Lesson learned: travel with an alarm clock. Most savvy travelers do anyhow.

Finally the lobby bar is fun and the restaurant is good. Tip: Only get the breakfast if you want a full meal. While the food is great, you get charged the same whether you get a single sausage link or a heaping plate.

Bottom line: Have fun and enjoy the best of Dublin from this ultimate launching point. The location is easily the best in town.

great location, cant get better

by A TripAdvisor Member

I visited this hotel in April 2003. Although the rooms are nothing to write home about, you really cant get a better location. Temple bar area is only 5/10 mins walk, the bus stop (for the bus that takes you round all the city and stops to allow people on and off and places of interest). Only minutes to dining aswell - TGIF's was great. Its also only a 10 min walk to the shops and only about 5 minutes away from the bus stop which you need to get to go to the airport. Restaurant was closed for refurbishment while we were there but there is a great little chippy round the corner and a great restaurant just opposite. Also opposite is a internet cafe at reasonable rates - cheaper than sending postcards anyway. I recommend visiting the Gaol (Jail) among others.

Dublin hotels

Can you recommend some relatively inexpensive Dublin hotels. I'm travelling with my 13 year old daughter and we're staying there mid-week in two weeks. And if you only had two days to spend in Dublin, which sights would you see?

Re: Dublin hotels

Dublin isnt a huge city, so I think you should just take the first day just for walking around the city centre - Stephens Green, Grafton St, Temple Bar, Merrion Sq, Trinity College, O'Connell St, the Spire, Smithfield Chimney Viewing Tower, the Four Courts and Christchurch.

Then on Day 2, if there are any musuems/galleries/shops you want to go to, you can save it til then.

As for stuff to see..theres loads, the viking tours the literary walks etc......have a browse through www.visitublin.com and www.dublintourist.com. Especially if youre looking for fun things to do for a 13 year old.
