Decent Guesthoust in Dublin
I decided to splurge my first night in Ireland by staying in a guesthouse instead of a hostel so I can get a goodnight's sleep to help with the jet lag. Very comfortable bed. Only complaint I had about all the places I stayed in Ireland is the slamming of doors causing noise and disruption.
The Airport Bus goes straight to the guesthouse - right by the Parnell monument. Breakfast included in the attached restaurant. I had dinner there as well, not that great. Good place to stay north of the River Liffey
Directions: near Parnell monument
We didn't pick this hostel out of choice...it was the only one available the night after St. Patricks! However, I think we were lucky. The rooms were pretty spacious and had ours had a little kitchenette, handy if you're addicted to cups of tea. Tea, coffee, milk etc was provided.
Unique Quality: Breakfast is included in the restaurant next door. I later found out that the websote said the hotel had a pool, but I saw no evidence of this at the time.
Directions: Off O'Connell Street.
