maldron - cardiff lane

Good (3.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on January 12, 2013

The Maldron is a chain hotel, but it does an efficient if uninspiring job.
Rooms are standard four star, the breakfast just what you would expect at this level and the view...well that's the lowpoint...unless you like a dirty car park and a skip.

Pleasant pool. Large enough to get some proper exercise. God I hate those four-star places that advertise a pool, photograph it to look like it goes on to infinity and in reality is barely bigger than a bath. So no complaints from me.

The bar also made an effort by employing a pretty reasonable singer on the saturday night we were there.

Unique Quality: Located opposite the Grand Canal theatre (or as it is now called the ' Bord gais waste of taxpayers money in naming rights theatre...or something like that).
