Superb accommodation
by fazer400 about Raheen Woods Hotel
Found this place by accident. At 90Euro for a room it was reasonable value. The hotel had only been open 9 weeks and there had been a lot of thought and expense put into the design and decor.
Breakfast was slightly disappointing though, possibly due to us getting down towards the end of the serving time. The hotel has a gym and spa attached called 'Tranquility'.
Quality three star
by sourbugger about Raheen woods hotel
Just outside the town of Athenry, this hotel is a great location for exploring County Galway. It's connections by train and road are great, and using it avoids hours sitting in Galway city traffic jams.
A modern three-star affair, its all brown and beige with the requisite spa, swimming pool , retaurant and bar.
Under new management, and working hard for those three stars. I was even impressed by the way management dealt with my two year old who went missing during a meal. He was found by the jovial undermanager trying to change the channel on the big-screen TV in the Lounge from an important Gaelic football game to Cbeebies and the delights of Fireman Sam and Postman Pat.
He has to be frogmarched back to the restaurant before a riot ensued.
